What is everyone's feel for the warhorns in-game? Personally I think the volume of the sound is so low that it never really detracts from the match. Often times I barely hear my own warhorns, let alone any others on the battlefield. I do find them useful to register an offscreen kill or to know an enemy died when they got outside of my field of view. Allows me to switch targets much faster if I hear the horn going off.

My only real complaint is they don't fit the decor of the clan cockpits. Of course neither does the hulu girl on my dashboard...

Thoughts?

Well.. I said that I'd hate them, and I don't.
The Lunch Truck one kinda reminds me of whenever you get a kill in Solaris, and doesn't look that bad in-game.
Haven't tried the others.

Yeah, I wasn't looking forward to them but they are ok. I rarely hear them. I wish they weren't visible in the cockpit but oh well. I have the Sonic Boom Social reward one but I don't use it. Though, it looks the most appropriate in the cockpit.

I absolutely hate them, hearing them even a little is more than enough. Heavy Metal having victory music as a special thing is okay, but warhorns... they are something that should not exists along with 3rd person view and ECM acting like null-signature system.

I don't mind them as long as i don't have to use them. Also wish i didn't have to hear them though.

As far as they way they look...it would be better if they looked like they were designed to fit in a mech cockpit, not on a teenage girls bedside table :)

Out of ~30 games, I only heard three that weren't from me. One was a teammate who I was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with when we both focus-fired one guy to death; he was lucky enough to get the killing blow. The other two were my opponents killing me at point-blank range.

I think the range might even be shorter than for the Heavy Metal's horn, at least pre-Jun 17th,

They're more like war-kazoos at this point. Tacky seventies styling and all. That said, I can help but smile every time I pop someone in my Euphoric Eardums SCR and hear the angelic chorus come down to claim the unfortunate's soul. The addition is fun and interesting, and maybe eventually we'll get more warhorns like Sonic Boom, which actually look both awesome and fitting, as well as...wait for it...

A WILHELM SCREAM WARHORN. KILL A MAN AND HEAR HIM FALL INTO THE DEATH STAR. LET ME BUY IT, PIRANHA.

Warhorns are glorious and anyone that says otherwise hates fun.

I like them. Adds a fun element to the game.

But... the in-cockpit speakers are too large and distracting. The Heavy Metal has external speakers only. I'd like to have no cockpit speakers as an option.

Not nearly as many people are running them as I thought would be. It also seems like they're not as loud as they were on the PTS. Maybe that's just me? I dunno, I like them. They're just a bit of fun.

If you are not hearing much of the warhorns, it's probably because the range was reduced from 500 to 100. :)

Give me a horn that emits a wolf howl and looks like it is designed for a mech cockpit and i'll use it :)

They very subdued and they seem a little out of place when they go off, but they aren't anywhere as bad as I'd previously thought. I could do without them, and I hope they are a limited item, but as long as they aren't going off every 2 seconds, they are ok in my book.

Range really needs to be like 300m. I can shoot a guy with a flamer, but he can't hear my warhorn. Haha.
