Seems that there are new colors for Clan weapon fire. Was this to make it cooler? Do clan weapons in Tabletop have different colors too? Just wondering if this weapon color is something that will be a possible $ deal down the road. Buy an item that changes the laser color or the LRMs color of your weapons?

I don't know for sure but would hazard a guess that it is simply so you can tell the two apart. The weapons behave differently so being able to differentiate between them at a glance allows you to make quick adjustments to your tactics to suit.

I'm not sure weapon colours were ever described in the table top game, just what each system did to the enemy.

In MWO, the colours are just a stylistic choice to differentiate them visually from the IS versions. I reckon it's unlikely that weapon colour will be customisable that way.

Laserfire in the Battletech novels is pretty much just red, crimson, scarlet, or some variant on the same color. The weaponsfire colors in this game are for balance. It's important to know, as a player, if you're being smacked by a flashing green pulse medium, a yellow er medium, or a medium green laser. Your reactions to each would be very different.

I was under the impression that laser color in battletech was a function of the instrumentation - since most lasers operate beyond the visible spectrum, the computer displays colored lines so you can tell where your allies/ the enemy is firing.

It's not a cool factor it's the fact that the weapon is literally different. Not a medium laser it is clan er medium etc

Question: What are the colours for the clan lasers?
It's been bugging me that I've no idea what's shooting at me.
Yellow for the er-med.
Light blue for the er-large?
Pink for er-small?
