Wonder if any of the maps will have these?

This has been discussed before in an earlier thread, but hopefully not.

Repair bays encourage camping behaviour, and it's pretty silly for 10 tons of armour to be fully repaired in 30 seconds.

I do hope to see ammo refit bays though.

First thought was "Heck yeah, great idea", but after reading BenEEeee's post...what he said makes sense. I guess I never thought about campers in this game (spawn points were always at the rear when I played last... :D ) and yeah, it's doubtful that 30t of armour repairs are going to happen during a match. Ammo refit, on the other hand, could work.

From watching the Youtube vids, I understand that there also won't be respawn ability, so players will need to be more realistic (i.e.; use cover where available to prevent damage) in their approach to battle, otherwise, they get an early beer break instead of being in-game to help their Lance-mates.

The game has both a respawn and "hardcore" mode.

I could see.... them as a mission objective.
I could even see them used between extended engagements but not as an facility to use in game.

If they were facilities that could be used during combat I would want it to be done in real time. 5-10 minutes to get in. Shut down the reactor, make everything safe for the repair crews, start the repairs, etc. And two hours later walk out ready to rumble!

I'm begging for a no vote. A PvE game sure. But this isn't the right setup for repairs. A 12 v 12 could last for a week.

"Fire lance. Move to MFB and activate repair and rearm."
"Copy Captain."
"Oh Mark. Don't take too long. We might need some LRMs in the next 5 minutes."

Just not the best idea IMHO.
Seems like a 'Beat and Release' program.

I love how everyone still assumes that any repair feature would restore you fully if implemented.Couldn't it be possible that an MFB, repair bay, what have you could only repair you slightly.

In field repairs would also break the post-match repair meta-game that balances out use of expensive, high maintenance heavy mechs vs cheaper lighter mechs.

No in field repairs. But there should be a way to resupply ammos.

All this respawn and field repair talk turns my stomach. I'll fight till the last internal crit overloads my neural interface!

Ammo drops would/could work. One idea might be to allow a team (after accumulating certain objectives/damage to opposing force/etc) the opportunity to radio in a resupply grid to a dropship in close orbit.

In my (admittedly limited) experience with the availability of repair bays in Mechwarrior Living Legends, I noticed that most of the action took place in the middle, with people having to make (sometimes long) treks back to base to repair.

Not saying I favor the idea, I just didn't see a lot of repair bay camping.

i wouldnt mind an ammo reload feature, course youd have to be at your base and be standing perfectly still and do nothing for 5-10 mins while ground crews reload you. and in a game with 20min max time matches im sure this would be incredibly useful.

I think MFBs should only repair you to about 50% and at the cost of some cbill rewards when the match is over.

Ammo only, and i would like to add. If this encourages camping, consider this. Its far easier to crit a vehicle than a mech. And all that ammo a mech or two might be using for some for of cover. How many tons of ammo was that thing supposed to be carrying?. Something like 40tons if i remember right. Let the noobs camp on bomb.
In wbich case i would love to see some use for aj AC/2. :)

Camping is bad, but the base does need to be in a position to defend itself. Maybe the repairs can become less effective each time, say 50% then 40% and so on. That would also reflect the deteriorating state of the defending mechs. And of course no weapon replacements only ammo.

I personally hope that when you run out of ammo you die :0
