Far from it. He knew the Crusaders would push, and try to break the truce. Ulric knew that even if he defeated the Jade Falcons, another Clan would come, Smoke Jaguars or the Steel Vipers, maybe a homeworld Clan and finish off the Wolves. Ulric wanted the Warden faction of the Wolves to survive and as such sent them to the Lyran realm with Phelan Ward. Ulric then wanted to do as much damage to the Jade Falcons, as to have the Falcons vote against the immediate dissolving of the truce and a return to Operation Revival, being too damaged to take Terra.

It was all thought out, and he knew it was a War that would not be won, a war that would end in the destruction of Clan Wolf. So he decided to do as much damage to the Falcons and the Crusader Wolf Clan as possible.

So ummm, yeah he gave up? Ulric said to himself, we can't win, my warriors are not good enough to win, so what can I save.

Not very Clan like at all I suggest.

Certainly not a "might is right" view. By that dictate he should have been saying well, we lost, we were wrong.

I kinda never thought it about like that either, but they do have trials for acceptance into the tourman which can involve killing the opponent (who you have just spent the last 16 years co habitating with) so it's hardly the only example of martial 'excellence' granting passage / promotion.

This really disturbed me because why would you go out and kill your sacred animal? Sorry you don't gain its spirit you just kill a wondrous beast.

I get it from the Clan rules and rights but the Bear gets zilch out of it.
I would understand if the Bear got a sacrifice of some sort, after all it is a "god sprit".( the Aztec gods got a virgin and a heart...a twofer)
Let's say the sacrifice to the Bear was the head of an Inner-sphere solder or hero that the Clawing contestant killed in battle and then he or she feeds it to the bear by hand, and in the last few seconds the Clawing contestant cuts a fist full of hair from the Ghost Bears fur, then returns to the elders to tell about his adventure.

Now that is worthy of respect as an officer, he or she has proven worth on the battlefield, bravery in the face of a brutal beast, surviving to tell about the adventure and giving the Bear a snack. I think that is respect to the Ghost Bear spirit.

I know, I didn't write the story but maybe I should make a short story about that TNX john :-)

I really hope the Warhawk translates well from TT to MW:O, it was one of my all time favourites.

Just had the whole AT-AT on Hoth persona, strolling up through any old firefight and twisting slightly to the left and BLAM.... down you go in a firey explosion..........

Well, ghost heat is going to be the big thorn in the side of the clan mechs. Ghost heat will be the biggest difference from TT Clans.
