Right now the Jenner Champion is on sale for 50% off. Also, in the "Store" section of the game you can spend MC to buy straight up C-bills.

Here is the thing.

WIth that Jenner on sale vs the maximum efficiency C-bill pack you can make FAR more money by just buying the Jenner, and then immediately selling it back with all of it's weapons and equipment for about 2.6 times more C-bills per dollar than the best booster pack.

Who-the-what-the...?

I honestly thought this might be fixed sooner or later, but weeks and weeks later the booster packs still don't have a price worth buying one.

============================================

Just don't buy booster C-bill packs guys. Trying my best to serve the MWO public.

If you buy a C-bill booster, you deserve to lose the money really. The CDA-2A(C) and JR7-F(C) are both much better value.

Especially now the Jenner is on sale. 725MC turns into 3million C-bills.

But the c-bill booster packs must make money for PGI, more fool those players who flunked math class.

my guess is cbill booster packs are only added because they want no rewards for private matches.so youre required to have premium time to host a private match but not get the rewards provided by premium time so then you pay even more to get the rewards denied to you and buy cbills.

Which is the best of all, value-wise?

As far as I can remember, the Jenner is the best value. Will check and get back to you.

What if a prospective buyer is also looking to make some extra EXP as well?

Honestly, I don't care about the C-Bill packs. I don't plan on buying them, and I'd rather simply sell engines out of 'mechs I buy as I go along anyways. (provided I have a dupe of that engine).

It'd be nice to have a few more skill-indexed ways to earn more C-Bills in game though.

this was mentioned upon announcement. They've never mentioned anything about adjusting prices. Given their track record with adjustments on pricing models (IE never) I wouldn't hold my breath.

If they sold a 3,000,000 C-Bill pack for 1000 MC, I would actually buy it occasionally when the Jenner and Cicada are not on sale. As it stands, there's never a time when the C-Bill bundles are worth the cost. You can always find an MC 'Mech to sell for a better exchange ratio

PGI's pricing schemes have always been a point of contention. This is one where where they really do seem to be incapable of understanding they can generate a lot more revenue by offering more options and smaller price points. As usual though it seems beyond them to understand that more options for players in all aspects of your game is always better.

I believe that it's IGP, not PGI, that sets prices. Judging by their old, and new, website I'm not surprised by their pricing. Check out their staff and be sure to visit their CEO's Facebook page. A whole lot of things started to make sense after looking at that FB page.

Either way it's the same principle. Just like taking (what many believe) was a good chunk of the money from this game and dropping it on another project. If I wanted to support THAT game I'd have spent my money on it instead. If I hand them money to support THIS game I expect that money to do just that. Support in the development and expansion of THIS game. If they weren't so far behind with just about everything I don't think people would take issue quite as much with it.

On another note, is the FB page listed under IGP?

You get the best value for the CDA-2A(C) normally, but as you get nearly as good values for the Spider or Jenner Champion...
If they are on sale they are WAY better of course.

Someone on this forum did the math, here is the link to it:

http://mwomercs.com/...25#entry3300225

Quote

Here is the math:
1,100,000 @ 800 = 1375 cb/mc =
2,400,000 @ 1600 = 1500 cb/mc = OR IF 30% off 2,400,000 @ 1120 = 2142 cb/mc
6,500,000 @ 4000 = 1625 cb/mc = OR IF 30% off 6,500,000 @ 2800 = 2321 cb/mc

Champions - CBill Sell value @ MC cost
SDR-5K(C) - 2636258 @ 1235 = 2134 cb/mc -BEST!
JR7-F(C) - 3067911 @ 1450 = 2115 cb/mc -BEST!
CDA-2A(C) - 3551523 @ 1600 = 2219 cb/mc -BEST! <---- TOP DEAL
BJ-1(C) - 3016837 @ 1695 = 1779 cb/mc - Better!
HBK-4P(C) - 1981946 @ 1800 = 1101 cb/mc
CN9-A(C) - 2075946 @ 1850 = 1122 cb/mc
DRG-5N(C) - 4066139 @ 2550 = 1594 cb/mc
CPLT-A1(C) - 2757257 @ 2790 = 988 cb/mc ------- OUCH!
CTF-3D(C) - 3115394 @ 4945 = 630 cb/mc ------- OUCH x2! <---- WORST
VTR-9S(C) - 5522115 @ 3725 = 1482 cb/mc
STK-3F(C) - 5822239 @ 3815 = 1526 cb/mc
HGN-733C(C)- 4367794 @ 4335 = 1007 cb/mc
AS7-RS(C) - 4983988 @ 4685 = 1063 cb/mc

Conclusion:
Purchasing a CDA-2A(C) for MC and selling it for c-bills is the most cost effective thing and significantly more cost effective than purchasing c-bills directly from the store in the "bundles".
