This and the savlage system was not fun for PGI/Paul lol.
this was done to death back then, countless weeks *if not months* of planning, work, and in the end, into the trash~! .

Sure make a player repair their mech because the rest of their team is a bunch of fools and split up to get rolled. Repair costs wouldn't make the FUGs play any better and would just hurt good players more. Especially considering MM doesn't go by comparing skill levels but by trying as hard as possible to make your WLR 1:1. You want a repair cost implemented in a game that'll put a half decent player against a poptart king because the mid player just happens to have a WLR of 1.25.

No repair costs until they fix MM to compare by skill and have teams with rather all round equally skilled players. I don't want a 4.5 million C-Bill repair bill cause Joe Shome in his DDC decided to turn and run away leaving everyone open to LRM central.

RnR was a straight tax on fun, and made the rich players way, way richer, while freeplayer scum couldn't even pay the 60,000 repair cost for their awesome's armor.

They took it out because it gave the game an incredibly bad rep.

R&R no matter how it is implemented, will never encourage good gameplay. I was there when it was in the game, it in no way improved the game and the 75% free was necessary unless you want people dropping into your matches not fully equipped.

If ammo costs cbills people will move more towards energy weapons.

If repair costs money people will move towards loadouts/behavior that let them avoid taking damage.

So you get ppc snipers/poptarts, and some lrm boats with people running into corners and powering down if the match is about to be lost.

Also making mechanics that force people to play mechs/weight classes they are not good as will not make your games better either. If for example lights are more profitable and assaults run a big enough disparity people will feel forced to play lights even if they suck at them, I would rather have some mediocre assaults than terrible lights because they may at least be able to do something. Similar if equipment such as xl is very expensive you will have standard engine lights potentially coupled with worse light pilots for a nice mix of extra fail.

Also lets not forget the effect of premium time & hero mech money bonus on that that tilts the game towards P2W, it would be a slightly reduced equivalent of gold ammo as only people that payed money can afford to run "premium" equipment regularly.

Those suggestions were bad two years ago when I killed the system with massive threadnoughts, and remain just as bad today. RnR will never come back, and if it does, PGI's mall office will get firebombed by ubergolds who blew hundreds to thousands of dollars on mechs that now require a quarter million c-bills to repair after each game.

That is the problem right there balance through out of game economy is bad, period.

Proper balance is achieved by making mechs compete in game in different areas so you can balance through gameplay.

Seriously there are soo many ways to make the R&R work.

Just because you keep repeating it doesn't make it true.

Also the RR in War Thunder doesn't do anything as far as balance goes so I'm not sure why you're even bringing it up.

Won't come back due to (Maybe even Developer Intended) Infiltration of "Call Of Duty" Players into this game.We may never even see Salvage Game Mechanic again :D

There already is a salvage mechanic in the game.

Not really one that matters though. There's really no significant gain in earnings based on how cleanly you kill a mech like there used to be.

Not really, but it is called that. I believe he means like actually salvaging parts and weapons, not c-bills.

It wasn't really given a shot since everyone had to actually think about things, yeah it punished bad players and new folks, but it could be worked on and made ok, but it would be years before it would be right and this game is already taking a long while.

They Took out the Salvage Mechanic that I am talking about right after I started playing Nov '12 ,I believe it was right before New Years or So..I may be wrong may need to look it up for exact date but it was there..People would try for Cockpit shots back then for extra salvage I remember that.

You could never loot parts. MWO isn't a singleplayer game.

Salvage is the way it's always been. The winning side gets x% of the losing side's undamaged mech value in salvage money. Aka, if you blow up my 18 million c-bill atlas completely, you get very little. If you leg it or headshot it, you get a lot.

To date no one has come up with a system that didn't hurt new/bad F2P pugs the same as it hurts veteran PT/Hero mech premades. Except for good players getting higher repair bills for torso twisting.
Its also funny that some players rant about long wait times and being forced to play different weight classes with 4x3, while other players want people to have to run lighter mechs without upgrades to accomplish the same goal- less heavies and assaults.

Lolwut, no it doesn't. Not in the slightest. The only way you might use your good stuff less due to costs in War Thunder is if you're a garbage pilot who gets shot down as soon as the enemy even looks at you and you accomplish nothing all round long.

I have the Corsair 1C. There has never been a situation where I couldn't afford to fly the Corsair 1C.

You still haven't provided a system that wouldn't hurt the not-top end players though despite saying there are "tons of ways" to do it.

R&R yes made making money more difficult. But what we wouldn't have is the LRMS & AC spam that's happening now.

It's those builds that made no $$ cause there huge ammo costs. So less people ran them

Just remove 10% from your C-Bills earns per Mach!

Not More, this would be enough.

Ammonution should be paid as well.

Maybe just incrase the Money that can get earnt by 10% to make that less singnifcant.
