Or you could reduce its firepower and fix its CT. Which is what should be done.

Reduce it's firepower? How so lol? Changing up it's omni pods?

Then it wouldnt be a Daishi, packing 5 guns into each arm is how its supposed to be played.

Thats how it goes for anyone who gets in the way of that loadout. That loadout just might be the ultimate in cheese.....It really saps all the fun out of the game lol. Poke over ot fire and KAPOW!!!! half ur mech is gone....

5 guns in each arm is perfectly fine. Its the 12-15 weapon Daishis that arnt canon.

A 15% ballistic cooldown penalty on the side torsos to match the 15% energy penalty on the arms would be sufficient I think.

Having played the Daishi on my sons login, I have no problem with how the mech performs. It has a large CT so its easier to hit, but so so does the Awesome Catapult, Stalker. You have to pay for being so large and carrying so much weaponry. There is no issue with its hit box compared to other large sized mechs.

Dire Wolves are gimme kills on the battlefield. I can't name another mech that will go down faster than a Dire Wolf to my Atlas. I will break off and chase a Dire Wolf simply because they are such easy kills. I can't think of another mech in the game that's as easy to kill with an IS assault as the Dire Wolf.

So rather than complain about the fact that they are rubbish - buff your KDR when you see one of these gimmes on your screen.

Buff my KDR on my Stormcrow is exactly what I do. I've mastered my 3 Twolves and know how easy a kill they are. I see one and think freebie and they usually are.

If I am in my awesome and with my clan mates, I target DW first and call them out. I rain LRM's on them since they take it all to the CT.

As I have stated before, I have actually tested this out, and have proof of it.

DW CT is broken, it's nearly impossible to hit the side's on this thing.

I still like my Daishi . Its just a bit sad you can not assault with the iconic Clan assaultmech . If you do this you are dead. Ok i play normally Atlas DDC , so i know this second line playstyle. Dead Daishi dont serve the team .

In fact fast havys like the Madcat are the better assaults. To bad i have buy the Daishi first and have to wait now.

But i still love my Daishi he looks great.

hello dude:

I got a 240 clan package too, and from my prospective from drving the direwolf i say it is about right. it is true that the ct is easy to hit, but basically everything that stands infront of you will go down or seriously crippled in a matter of seconds, and dire wolf should more be like the anchor of an assult and firepower. it is already a very overwhelming mech. I am no expert but for my 2 cent, if your keep dying from its ct death maybe you could consider adjusting your playstyle with more team orientated.

have fun in the battlefield! just remember your bring fear to the enemies, so they will aim at you! push with teammates!

**** the ones I meet seem to be the dual GR ones lol. I poke over to fire at one and my mech melts around me.

Or they Dual PPC/AC me to death....either way, DWs pack plenty of firepower.....guess another assault isnt the best way to fight it lol.

Well, having such a large CT makes it XL safe, so slap on the biggest...oh wait...

Sorry, but the stalker has a very small, hard to hit CT, and is one of the most durable brawlers in the game. Even now I find it much easier to actually take the front line and, you know, assault, with the stalker. The catapult is a second line fire support mech so its CT is not an issue since it should be behind other mechs, and the awesome has long been acknowledged as broken in MWO.

The dire wolf definitely lays down plenty of firepower and can certainly be useful. However, as is, it currently is (as one clan-mate put it) the ultimate fire-support mech. To some of us that enjoy being an assault brawler, that is a bit dissapointing, as it currently can barely handle one mech when that opponent pilots efficiently.

I have been getting more used to it, and my damage output is good, but it feels like it must be played in a defensive, rather than offensive manner. This just feels wrong for 100 tons of walking death.

I absolutely would be OK with that if the CT was fixed. Heck, give it hit boxes like the stalker and you can go +30%.

It's kind of ok . After 80 matches i have in direwolf a little less k/d and w/l statistics than in my old dakka 3e . Given that a lot of the matches were played with stange configs to learn the clans weapons the total feels ok . It's a death machine but slow , slow , slow , so slow that in some maps if your stating position is bad you will die in 30 seconds (volcano if you are a single dw in a fast lance and spawn in the extreme left of the front) Next time if i spawn there i'm going to power down and wait the battle circle back in front of me . Hitboxes are bad , but you can torso twist a little .Very little but at least is better to do it than not. I play it for the fun moments when the planets are aligned and you can go eating 2-3 oponents singlehandedly . In balance you get lrm-ed / focused to death a lot .Also the cockpit is very vulnerable , think catapult style .

When you get 2 shotted by 2 lrm 60's with no splash to your arm's its severely broken or lrm's need a nerf.

When I get 1 shotted by 2 gauss 2 ppc in my Adder, does that mean that those weapons need a nerf too? Or does it mean I suffered high-velocity lead/energy poisoning and should not have been standing there, alt. I was caught in a bad situation?

The Dire Wolf handles a bit like the fluff suggests the Stone Rhino / Behemoth handled "the lumbering prototype was so massive that its leg actuators failed during its sole test run".

The Dire Wolf is a bit of a write off at the moment. Maybe the Executioner/Gladiator, Kodiak, Kodiak II, Mad Cat II, Scylla, or Jupiter may provide the sort of clan turtle that can take a beating before keeling over.

I don't own a Dire Wolf, but every time I see one on the field, I try to make sure it gets to its position as intact as possible, escorting it with my Timber Wolf (walking backwards... xD). A Dire Wolf with support is nothing less than a horror show -- for the target. Trying to flank it would run into the support mechs, trying to take it head on would just result in getting chewed up by the Dire Wolf. The Dire Wolf is great in an assault, but it needs to be well supported.

No, I am comparing the ability for the enemy to 1-2 shot you with concentrated fire. Just because you are 100-tons do not mean there is nothing out there that can kill you (despite what most Dire Wolf pilots seem to think when they wade into groups of enemies and die in 3 seconds). If I place myself in a bad situation, or one is forced upon me by the red team, there is a large chance that I will die.

Look at the Atlas, another 100t mech that is usualy gunned down in seconds, or are you suggesting that the Dire Wolf, in addition to carrying enough firepower to level a small city, should also be able to stand up to 120+ incomming damage?

People fire everything they have when they see an Dire Wolf on the targeting screen due to the danger it represents, is there any suprise in that they kill it in seconds?
