I tried the Dire Wolf today, and I must say I am quite unimpressed. I was very much looking forward to this mech as, while purchasing, I was given the impression that it would be quite powerful. However this is not so. Contrary to what was expected, I have not had the opposing team line themselves in front of my Dire Wolf so that I may shoot them with 6 UAC5s. Instead they prance around and avoid all my shots. I feel as I have been ripped off at this point. It's quite simple really: When entering the battlefield in my 100 ton monster, the opposing team members should line up directly in front of it so that I may shoot them and do so in the most humble and efficient manner possible. Really, I am at a loss here. What gives PGI?

Your playing MWO pugs and they dont?! I swear, I manage to find all the pugs who do just that....sadly im on the same side. Direwolves constantly tear up my puggie groups.....
They have shredded my poor ol Warhawk a time or 2 as well.
It was fun peeling both guns off one though =D Maybe not worth 85% of my armor, but it was fun.
Direwolf is not a rip off, it just cant be played like a solo brawler. Roll in behind your buddies like a sort of super tank and blast anything and everything. Get in a clan that might actually protect your rear a bit.

I want it to have better hitboxes and agility, but not until the 2xERPPC/2xGauss combo is smacked down/desynched/whatever.

Thank you very much for this review, OP. I hope enough people read this to make a difference and PGI fixes it like their previous great fixes in this game.

DireWolf Structural Problems:
1) Only 60 Degrees of Torso YAW that is ridicolously annoying -> Should be at least 70° upgradable to 80° with some ballistic torso quirk;
2) Very Poor Speed of 53 Kph is a lot of punishment -> DireWolf desperately needs MASC!!!
3) Cockpit too Easy to Hit for snipers, Giant CT, Tanking expose a big portion of Side Torsos, the hitbox of the roof seems whole part of CT for the pleasure of LRM's boats and poptarts;
Lasers at least fits in decent position, better than ATLAS (At least the higher ones!)...
Ballistic Torsos HardPoints should be one step higher (Damn it!!!!)
Ballistics: The Clan uAC's spreads too much the damage because projectiles speed are the same as IS AC's -> Some speed boost should be reasonable thing cause the bursts fires multiple projectiles of lesser caliber!!!
