So there will allways be a possibility for the lone PUG to end up vs groups...Personally I would opt for just having a solo queue and a separate group queue even if it is totally mixed up , and make all groups to be even numbers.

And the 3/3/3/3 means that certain classes will probably have to wait for a very long time dependant on least played class and most played class , not science but simple mathematics.

Also is this just a ploy to try to get people to buy more mechs? As if you just play assaults all the time for instance your queue time is set to jump.

But seriously there are a lot of other things that really need to get fixed before you start adding extra 'content' and game mechanics. And I still can't believe that you are porting a tabletop game to the PC .. lol. (guess that explains a lot of the issues with gameplay).

P.S. good to see nothing has changed with your eye firmly fixed on the NA market, great PR department you must have!

Four hours seems way too short for a good test of the MM. I would up that to 8 hours (4pm-12a.m. PT, 7pm-3a.m. ET) to see how it performs as people log off and groups get scarce. It also provides for extra time should "issues" occur early in the test period.

what i would like to see tryed is somthing a bit more flexabul like 3/*/4/3

so you are limited to 3 lights 3 Assalt but you can take upto 4 heavys and you could take upto 12 mediums.
I like the way the 4/3 works but it will make games stail and boring.
tho i dont think IS will do to well with tomany mediums the clans might with all that extra fire power.

The new MM has a lot of flexibility built in, so if the player pool requires it, it will break the 3/3/3/3 rule for 3/2/4/3 or whatever it has to do to make matches. And they can adjust any variables it uses to make matches whenever they need too without a patch.

It seems PGI has finally gotten their heads wrapped around the technical needs of this game. They've had to scrap old code that was rushed and before they really knew what they needed and released UI2.0 (the most important part being the backend work) and now with the matchmaker. The old MM is over a year old and really only designed with ELO and some weight balancing in mind.

You know, if Community Warfare had been out already, they probably would have had to redo that too.

Can we get some sort of answer/explanation regarding this issue please? Will more mechs be added that can use Command Console or will current IS mechs be given the ability to add them?

What makes you think there will be a limit on who can use the command console? It is a customization just like any other, and all mechs should in theory be able to use it.

as for having it available for sale as a standard item might not be part of the test, but I doubt they will go live without the ability to buy it.

I'm not sure how it is in the lower ELO's but in the upper-high ELO's the distribution of groups per team is extremely even. I drop in a group almost always, there is often a group on the enemy team and from there it escalates evenly, 1-2, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3 premades facing off etcetera.

The problem isn't that one side has far more groups, it's that each individual group can have a massive skill disparity. My group can blow away solo players that refuse to organize, but another group can just as easily blow us away.
In my opinion, getting this weight matching and a tighter spread of ELO within a match will help a lot. Groups do a decent job already of canceling eachother out.

And a final thought. Having a solo only queue will never elimiate stomps. Most games are decided by how stupid individuals (or stupid groups) decide to act within the match. It's hard even for a coordinated 4man team to make up for a couple potatoes suiciding into the enemy team.

I am not sure of my 'ELO' to know where I fall.

I think you are misunderstanding my post or my wording was not the best. It was not a shot at premade groups or to point blame for a roll/ stomp. It was just commenting to the known issue that multiple groups can get stacked against solo pugs since the initial introduction of 3/3/3/3 implementation had to be shut down. Unless that has been corrected? I just remember a great number of threads with people having this issue and it makes for bad game play for both the group and the solo guys.

"In Theory" and in reality are not always the same thing....I ask this because as far as I can tell only one mech in the game comes with the command console.. the Atlas -DDC. So I think my question is valid.. will other IS mechs be able to use it or does it need a designated hardpoint to equip like ECM. Sorry you didn't like my question... but then again I wasn't asking you I was asking PGI. I do however hope your answer is correct. If Smurfy's is any indication you are indeed correct... But I would still like to hear it from PGI just to be certain...

If I remember correctly in BT lore/rules... Command Console should be able to be equipped in any Heavy or Assault Mech... not Lights or Mediums, being to large/heavy to do so... but we'll just have to wait and see...

I predict that the Clan Targetting Computer will be too weak to begin with, or will be fun and worthwhile until people whine and get it nerfed.

Scaling fall damage looks like it has lots of potential. Here's hoping my Locusts will be cured of their Lobstein syndrome.

Not sure if they will be. PGI says no and claims numbers to back it up but my take on it leaves something to be explained.

Command Console comes with the Atlas-D-DC.
Any Mech can buy and equip it at least according to Smurfy's, I have not checked in game.

If memory serves, the CC was available as an individual item when it was introduced, but it was removed because it was useless. You are of course correct that clarification is needed, but honestly I don't think it is very likely that the only way to get one is to buy a D-DC.

Too bad they didn't have a public test for these kinds of matchmaking restrictions when we had 8 per team. Then they could have claimed "Test out our new 2 by 4 Technology!"

I know, bad joke. Wonder if anyone gets this reference with exception of the "young 'uns".

If you want to actually get a ton of people playing, may I recommend opening up the Clan mechs to everyone on the Public test? This would guarantee you the numbers they need and I know I would play.

Also I really don't understand why they don't do this for all the mechs in public test. For example, I own something like 7 premium tanks in WoTs each and everyone bought ONLY after I had the opportunity to use them extensively on the public test. I also have over 1000 matches on the WoTs public test servers simply because I enjoy extensively trying out and testing tanks I haven't had the opportunity to unlock in game. Wasting time playing the same mechs I have played time and time again in regular play doesn't appeal to me, especially since I could play the same mechs in regular play and actually progress my XP, GXP and C-bill balances instead.
trial clan mechs anyone?
