Also, ECM is fundamentally broken six ways to Sunday, even if you don't count its ability to turn off guided missiles. The ability to deny your enemy the use of Red Doritos and paper doll readouts can and does turn the tide of battles, and makes flanking attempts far more successful.

- - Don't be a target. If you know LRMs are in the area, and you're standing in the open - even momentarily - something's wrong.
- - Be aware of your surroundings. This means communication. If you see someone boating LRMs - SAY SOMETHING. Even if it's just "LRM boat D9-ish area"
- - Speed. You may love your assaults, but so do LRM boats. If you see this happening a lot several games in a row, you might want to reconsider your 50 kph Stalker.
- - Fill your role. Don't go hunting along the forward lines on your own if you can't escape an LRM swarm. The first person over that hill is a prime target; if you can't get away - don't be that person.
Otherwise, it's a game. LRMs aren't perfect. Try to figure out what's going wrong, and adjust. Learn. Don't rage, that's pointless.

I bought a Firebrand and never looked back after I discovered that more speed was the answer to LRMs.
I'm able to get to cover faster with more speed, backing up or going forward.
You can never prevent being hit by missiles, but you can limit the damage as much as possible by playing smart and not forgetting that LRMs are everywhere.

Every mech come with free Anti Missile Capability. It's called intelligent use of cover.
If you are dying regularly to LRMs, here is a hint, it's not your lack of ECM. It's because you are simply not very good. Yes, not a nice thing to say, but, after the 100th "OHMAHGERD!!! LRMS!!!!" post, I find the time for tact has passed.
Guess what? I represent a number of players, who play mechs with no ECM, no AMS, etc, and not only survive, but thrive.
If LRMs were so OP; how would that be possible? Because I don't stand out in the open thinking that is the way the game should be played, and doubly so with big, slow mechs.

So I'd hardly say they're overpowered. Just spammy. Too bad we can't just double their damage and reload time to keep the DPS and close to balanced nature they have now, but in turn remove the spam by reducing their firing frequency.
