Could you recommend some channels playing mostly PUGs ? i'd like to see if it's worth getting back to this game, and i'm not sure the effort i'll put in re-learning the game will pay off.
Thanks.

You should check out Koniving's videos on youtube:

There's also Helmstif's videos:

Videos are very useful to learn from, especially when you watch yourself afterwards. A buddy of mine, Lashropa, recorded some videos of us playing, and I can see a lot of mistakes I make.

Most recently I saw a video of myself on Alpine. First mistake I make is in mis-interpreting the enemy team's movements. I thought the enemy was moving north up from Kappa to Epsilon. Turned out they were actually rolling out towards Sigma. Second mistake was not slicing the pie cleanly enough to engage a Dire Wolf and make sure only half his mech would be showing, so he couldn't hit me with his full firepower. Luckily for me another teammate drew his fire and I didn't get punished for it. Third mistake was when engaging an enemy Timberwolf, I fired my lasers into his right torso, but my SRM volley hit his right leg and was wasted. Then I stepped in front of a friendly Dire Wolf and blocked his line of fire to the Timberwolf. Just sloppy of me. I should've taken a quick glance at my radar and I would've seen the position of friendly mechs, and avoided blocking his line of fire. After that a bunch of enemies pushed over and I fire my weapons at a Centurion's torso... I really ought to know better than that. Rather than switching up to hit his legs, I got excited and switched targets to shoot at a Summoner. In the process of shooting at the Summoner I lost track of my position as I moved across a valley and ended up exposing myself to enemies on the left and had my left torso destroyed. I broke off, and then when I rejoined the fight I caught a hit to the CT that I should've shielded against, and this opened up my CT. At the end, a Stormcrow hunted me down, and I didn't shield effectively with my near-fresh right-torso, and he cored me out.

All of that simply didn't enter my mind during the game itself, and I didn't remember it well enough to pick out all of those errors anyways. Before watching the video, I thought I was doing OK in that game. It was amazing being able to watch the video again and see all the moments I screwed up. So much room for improvement.
