I don't blame them. They play nice with PGI, and PGI plays nice with them. This gets them Neat Shinies, which in turn gets us Neat Shinies. *shrugs* All the power to them.

I know, they would be great community managers if they cared about the community. But you can see their selfishness in the hero mechs when they make their own instead of taking the path of Yen lo wang.

but like Seph said... this IS the island bro.

Had a discussion similar to this on Twitter earlier today

The community, trolls, players, etc. being "hostile" is not an excuse
They have the way and means to stop that. This is their forum. They dictate what is acceptable behavior here.
They are not excused from acting in a professional manner simply because "the customer was mean to me". I deal with people who make the idiocy and animosity on here look like a 4 year old girl's tea party. Guess what? I don't act unprofessionally no matter how bad they get.
No what would happen if I did? I'd be looking for a new job.
I also don't exclude the main form of communication used by my company when trying to communicate and obtain feedback from them. I don't post important announcements and information on 3rd party websites that the majority of my customers do not frequent without also making sure it's available on the official website just because "some customers might get snotty"

That's not an excuse.

I think that "being the better man" was never PGIs strength.

no argument there, still not going to let others try to excuse it for them. They will be held to, at least by me, the exact same standards to which I hold myself when dealing with customers. There's a time and place for joking and sarcasm. A public forum and social media site in response to an angry customer are not that time and place. The sad thing is that their pride and hubris in that situation does nothing but cost them money that could be used to further develop the game and make it a bigger success.

Excuse my ignorance but I looked for an official PGI announcement page and could not find it. Maybe this emphasizes your point, but w what official channel did you hear about this through?

And yes, I really do think that emphasizes my point. The fact that you had to come here and ask where the info was located. Just ridiculous.

another request thread with sorts of logic

days pass , more pages written , no action taken ;)

but considering the no guts no galaxy guys try not to harn their relationship with pgi and dont ask /state things that would shine pgi in a lesser light
yeah no doubt pgi likes the no guts no galaxy community better in general and im not saying this community is the best either

At least it's not a riverside community, or you'd be taking everything not nailed down B).

Does PGI think that the entire MWO Forums is the island now?

I ran into Bombadil in a game the other day. He was rocking a PGI tag, so I guess he's officially an employee now?

Technically, yes.

It's not a conspiracy. That was only true a while ago (like, a year or two at least).

Back then, I think they admitted to being paid by IGP through the work NGNG does. Now I assume PGI is paying them.

Just look at this thread. Name calling and snarky remarks everywhere. Even if you want to have a good discussion you can't because of these people. Just look at your own threads.
Anywho are you talking about the NGNG community building their own hero mechs? Isn't that NGNG just doing their own thing? I don't see it as PGI asking for people to build some. I smell an overreaction.

I would not mind NGNG doing the leg work to put out hero mechs if they were actually worth a crap. However they are not.
I would like to see more lore based units. Considering the alternate universe we are in, that would be all sorts of FUBAR.

On the Battlemaster hero NGNG page, Bombadil's put;
"PGI is looking to utilize community input on future Hero BattleMech Designs. They have tasked us to go directly to YOU, the community members for feedback! Your task today is to design a Hero BattleMaster. We will be collecting the builds and presenting them to PGI directly."

It's the same on the other hero threads too by the look of it.

I agree. Promoting it on other outlets its great, however, it needs to be hosted and promoted on the official website. Unless this is a cross promotion with a company who is funding the venture , and even then , it really needs to be referenced on the official website.

Cheers.

This.

Fine, let NGNG Host it.
Announce it, and provide details and links on your OWN Website.

It's not rocket science.
