Here is a list of mechs I'd like to see in the game before the Clans pop up. This is strictly a personal opinion. I might be off on some dates or tech. Some are Unseen, but hopefully they could be 'Reseen' or whatever it is called when the companies stop fighting over the toys and let us players start fighting with the toys <_<

Axeman - if you can code 'charge' and 'Death from above', you can code a hatchet
Banshee
Black Knight
Caesar - I love it when I have a Gauss Rifle AND an ER PPC
Cyclops - because its all fun and games until someone loses an eye ;)
Flashman
Grasshopper
Hatchetman - see Axeman
Highlander - DFA :D
Hussar
Imp - because sometimes you want to shoot so many lasers the air between you and the target catches fire
Longbow
Mackie - yep, I'm serious
Marauder
Mercury
Orion - good enough for Kerensky, good enough for me
Rifleman
Shadow Hawk
Spider
Urbanmech
Uziel
Victor
Zeus

*** a more general suggestion - Try to release at least one chassis at every 5 ton level from 20 to 100. The Trebuchet was announced today. That is the third 50 ton mech out of 13 announced so far. No 20s, 30s, 45s, 55s, 75s, 90s, or 95s yet.

Thank you

You should have something about jumpjets with the Highlander. Or the oft-quoted "Highlander Burial." Because the only thing better than DFA is DFA in a 95 ton 'Mech.

Hehe, 90, but at that point its doesn't really matter. Something very big has landed on your head. I will edit OP

I think filling the gap weights with some high variant mechs will maybe be the final goal - the devs seem to be choosing mechs that have variants with significantly different loadouts.

It's going to be interesting to see what kind of customizations people come up with based upon the weapons pods available to each variant.

Ah, right. Been forever since I watched my friend play MechCommander 2. And the Mackie? I hear ya, no doubt, but I wonder how many of those are still around in 3049, as far as canon is concerned. That's almost like an event 'Mech that's totally worthless, and you keep as a trophy because of the sheer novelty of the thing. Granted, I'd like it in just to see how FD redesigns it, considering what he did with the Stalker.

As much as I love the Axman and Hatchetman, I don't see them happening any time soon, though we can hope and pray.

Don't see the Caesar happening what with it being a clone of the Cataphract.

I don't really see the Imp working out seeing as it was introduced by Wolf's Dragoons and was one of their exclusive mechs for a long while.

As for the Longbow, Marauder, Rifleman and Shadow Hawk, don't hold your breath on account of them being Unseen.

While the Mackie is very much extinct at this point in time on account they ceased production before the First Succession War some 283 years ago. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mackie

And the Urbanmech or Urbie as it's fan's call it, I don't see it coming before any of the other possible mechs what with it being overly specialized and quite useless out of it's element. But who knows, we may eventually see it, though I doubt before the Clans attack.

But the Black Knight is a must for the Invasion seeing as ComStar has so many of them, while the Spider is a real possibility for the next light mech release. But yeah, I would love to see the Hatchetman and Axman with functional Hatchets in game, that would just be awesome sauce.

I definitely will own a Crab and Flashman at some point, but who knows when. The Crab I expect to see soonish but the Flashman has not gotten the best reception. Both these mechs create a ton of nostalgia for mechwarrior 2 mercs. oh and the Thug :D

For the Mackie, I was thinking more along the lines of a tutorial or an achievement mechanic...
1) Tutorial - the new player gets a Mackie and faces off vs 4 drone light mechs, like the historical battle of the Mackie test pilot vs the 4 Merkava tanks.
2) Repeatable Achievement - Win 100 matches, get a free non-sellable Mackie and a bonus garage slot. Then win 3 matches with the Mackie to make the Mackie sellable :D

On the subject of the Unseen, they havent actually said 'no'. We may get lucky and HG lets them be used. Not holding my breath mind you, but I'm not outright refusing the notion.

Of course, I say all that because I would lie cheat steal kill and maim to get a Marauder!

Firestarter or Spider.
Griffin or Assassin.
Orion, Archer, Warhammer or Thunderbolt.
Banshee, Zeus, Highlander or Cyclops.
Would still like all the weight slots filled.
Let us see whats the Devs throw at us.
Like all good doggies we like our bones! We covert them and chew them up!
