Experiencing difficulties with hit detection on the latest patch?

Please add your videocapture of these issues here with an explanation of how you were affected. If relevant, please include time references in your description.

Important Note: Please remember to pop open the scoreboard (Default: Tab) to make your ping visible in the video sometime after the match has begun.

still seeing some bad detection with large amount of lasers fired at one time, especially bad on my nova using 6SLs at a time... sometimes there is zero registration.

ER ppcs (IS) the ones I use still pass thru mechs, of all sizes 35%? of the time. They don't even have to be moving fast. My ping is usually less then 100. What makes it worse it is is usually below 400 meters that it happens, maybe I can't notice it on the farther distances tho.

Clans do this as well. I really can't be assed to go through the pain of capping, encoding, uploading, posting link to show them evidence of their own fail. If PGI can't be assed to PLAY their own game enough to experience the issue, not my problem to fix.

Ok. So it isn't just me watching PPC hits not register. I've seen it a couple times today and did a double-take on each one.

Agree with Claviger.....
PGI, take the time to stop and assess this before you release it. In fact.... seriously, stop and THINK about what you plan to implement before you do it. Don't just throw something out there as a "solution" without considering the impact. Like adding more "health" to light mech legs. THAT is absolutely ********. You have hit detection problems as it is and you choose to do THAT? Light mechs with jump jets, lots of them, should SAVE SOME BOOST to allow themselves to land safely. If they're just blasting without taking fall damage into account, too effin' bad, you suck as a player.

Just please.... stop, and think.

I feel something strange happening with lasers... Will feedback further. ;)
Edit: Ok... I suspect it is just the new MM in solo drop queue.. now putting us against noobs that do not know how to roll damage and going around in slow mechs...

Needs to be monitored further.. 2 Shots a fresh medium in the read CT in a Jenner felt good though.

I can't offer videocapture, but my ping average is 160 ms. I also am only commenting on a few dozen runs in the Testing Grounds.

What seems to happen from time to time is that a ballistic shot (AC20 or Gauss with a hit and explosions) fails to make the paper doll flash at all.
The same happened with SRM salvos. Didn't matter if it was 2x SRM4 or 2x SRM6/A fired at the same time, rarely, not one of these missiles made the paper doll flash.

I don't know what the server does aside the displayed hits on the paper doll, but I'm assuming that these shots were not registered as a hit and did 0 points of damage.


EDIT:
Apart from that, the SRM hit detection as a whole is way better after the major fix for them.

I was shooting a Timberwolf from less than 100 m distaince yesterday on my Warhak with 4 ER PPCs and he instead killed me, because my shots couldnt register, this is kinda big bullshit guys.

I have had issues with either the PPC or the Timberwolf

Just came from a game where I unloaded 4 alphas of dual C-ERPPC into a timberwolf's Rear Center Torso and it was registering the damage to its Front Center, Front Right and Front Left Torsi or no damage at all - The timberwolf was completely stationary and the shots were directly from behind, my ping was about 80.

I have also had instances where my PPCs have not caused any hit reg or damage despite being fired within optimal range and hitting the target.

As for me, since last patch close combat (less then 200m) hits are just.... well, no words - when LBX pillets fly 20m away of aiming point at those ranges its soooo....unexpected! At mid range i saw much more "ghosthits" when aim in enemy mech but bullets fly away...

P.S. I know how to stop and how to shoot, those things happend even me and my target are standind still in front of eachother...

P.P.S. But same time i see some progress and work around that problem and its good :wacko:

Mainly I am seeing PPCs shots just pass harmlessy through enemies.

Hit detection for CERPPCs is awful

fire them to fast and the second shot will not register at all
too close to the enemy? nope, shot goes right through them, doing no damage
they only seem to work properly on stationary targets between 250m and 800m
