Because why not? DWF-PRIME

I know its a suicide build, but it should be as fun to play as the triple gauss ilya. I am still debating whether it would be better to strip off the targeting computers and add more ammo and armour. More versatility or more range/projectile velocity?

Post your crazy 4 gauss Daishi build here!

PS: Optimizations to any current builds posted here is always welcome. Please remember to make fun of the builds; NOT the people running them.

I've bumped into the 2Gauss, 2ERPPC Diashi/DW on the field. One-shotted me. Was lots of fun. :|

why would targeting computer stack? I would hope to god they weren't that stupid

save that weight and get a few beam weapon on there for fun or some extra armor, bump it all around by quite a bit

You can't fire 4 Gauss Rifles at once. I believe they put a limit of 2 (not ghost heat, an actual limit). Also, I don't think the Targeting Computers would stack.

Its true targeting computers do not stack, you might be just building in redundancy incase one gets destroyed. Also Gauss rifles now can only fire 2 at a time as a limitation of how much energy the engine can provide. A better 4 gauss build IMO would be drop the extra computer and armor up. but, 4 gauss is just kinda crazy. Better off with this http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9c171036d6f3c03 2 er ppc and 2 Gauss.

You can only mount 1 Targetting Computer on a mech.
Not all item limits are working in Smurfy atm, but he has been unable to fix it due to life getting in the way.

Furthermore, you can only charge 2 Gauss Rifles at a time now (both clan and IS), so more than 2 is pointless.
Hence 2 Gauss, 2 ERPPC has become the 'norm'.

clan er large lasers work better with the dual gauss. once the laser is done firing, the gauss is charged up. also allows u to carry 6 clan er small lasers for close up work with little heat management. requires an ams though...sitting exposed in a slow mech draws tons of lrm fire now that everyone loads up with lrms

Ah didn't realize that targeting computers didn't stack. That would be kinda crazy if they could. I am fully aware that only two gauss rifles can be fired at a time. I would definitely drop the second targeting computer for armor and possibly drop a ton of ammo for armour. Thanks for all the replies everyone!

PS: Using anymore then 2 gauss rifles was silly before this patch as well as after this patch. People that ran the triple gauss ilya usually fire two in the arms and then one in the torso so this ban on firing anymore then two gauss rifles at a time would not affect them too much. Will have to try it ingame myself to see how it would affect me though. Will get back to you guys on this later.

People are thinking small TBH.

HERE'S a real hurt machine. You can remove the Targeting computer, and have 3 slots and 3 tons for more ammo/armor.

I'm not sure if it was mine; but if it was, I have three ERPPCs in there. I call it Jovian Bolt. It's mainly for fooling around and being able to call out "Double goose... JOVIAN BOLT!!" when I fire everything.

ETA: Though admittedly, I might change out the Gauss for UAC/10s; an interesting side effect of the CT fix is that I'm dying more to both Gauss exploding than to centerlining.

75 point alpha. Very nice.

The quadro Gauss would give you the benefit of equal projectile speed, which is important at long range. On closer ranges the 2xPPC+2xGauss build should be vastly superior, because it is more tonnage efficient (by 12 tons+ammo).

Since only two of them will fire at once, that kind of shoots that benefit out of the air, does it not?

A real one shot machine, you mean. The Dire Whale can not just run away to cool down after that one solid alpha, so you should rather set it up for constant damage output. Take this.

Oh that build was never meant for anything other than a big hurrah!. However, you can fire off the 2Gauss once post alpha, and then once they cool down, you can slap another alpha in there, without over heating. Proper heat management will be important, however, seeing as you can plink people from over 1000 meters, you needn't worry too much.

The build is made as a joke set up.

Well, if you are going to do a joke setup, do this:

In part. The gauss projectile is still faster, hence both twin shots will fly fast. PPCs are slow ever since they nerfed them (thanks to 6 PPC stalker...).

PPCs have a 4s recycle time. Gauss has a 4.75+s recycle time. 4xGauss will therefore work only marginally faster than 2xGauss+2xPPC, while removing the ability to reliably put the entire alpha on one location.

This is, of course, disregarding the useless armor and ammo values, and how easy it is to criple mechs with torso Gauss.
