Alright, because I'm a free player, I'll try and voice out the concerns in the free player demographic in that our colour palette is too limited.

I've bought all the basic colours now and know that I'll never get a simple grey/Gunmetal colour for my mechs without injecting cash. I'm cheap, I don't care, I know it's only practically 500 MC for 1 grey, I don't care. But could we just have only 1 dull, drab pathetic excuse of a grey camo tint for our mechs after we finish squabbling with the trial IS mechs? (which THANKS BTW for giving use 3 from every weight class! I mean it, it increased the lifespan of MWO for me personally). Default green never made sense to me when I started playing MW:O; out of the few Battletech games I've ever played, Gunmetal was always default. It was nice, it looked generic for giant walking metal tanks, not like a green paint-job. And our colour schemes that are aesthetically appealing(complimentary) without making us look like 8 year olds are: Orange and Red, Blue and Purple.
With a grey (Camo Grey ex.), we got at least 5 more and at most 7 to choose from.

Please, could you guys make this happen?

Or if I should negotiate; could you at least put a grey into the basic colour spectrum so Free players can pay C-bills for it? And I guess to be fair compensation to the non-F2P for a basic grey colourwould follow through.

I'd also like a free yellow.

Basically there should be a 'CB' basic of every general color for us poor shytes who aren't regularly spending MC. I mean hell, I own SEVERAL real colors and my "personal" color scheme is all basic shades.

What?
Why would you possibly justify that.

By 'free' he means the 'Basic' Colours, that are available for 1,250,000C-Bills each.
And I think a dull 'sprue' grey would be a fine, and a reasonable addition to it, making a round 6 'basic' colours.

Tbh, I'd rather have a single free faction specific color, e.g. Marik purple, Davion yellow, Steiner blue, Kurita red, Liao Green, CGB light blue, CJF light green, CW light red, CSM black (or dark gray) ....

When you change your faction, the faction specific color should either be changed back to primer green or to the faction color of your new faction.

If there's one faction which should get the grey, it's Lone Wolves (and maybe mercs).

A faction colour would be great for immersion. But with the Resistance package coming out, it looks like it's not going to be free. Or maybe not when CW comes around. I'm not sure, I only originally posted this because a grey gunmetal colour always seemed to be default in the past games.

But hey, they got me. I bought a $10 Karmakoin. Now my colour combos don't suck. Nice, they finally leeched me after 3 years. But that's it! What else would I buy that I can't earn for free?

Paint patterns? Crusader and sherman are the only ones that look legitimate to me.
Cockpit Items, including warhorns? challenges
Premium time? challenges. But it's only worth it for buying clan mechs. But hey mastering Daishis will take a lifetime for me then. I'll just play MW3 or MW4Mercs in the mean time.

Question is, which grey would we pick. Perhaps one we don't have yet, to make things fair.

They did just give away enough easy MC last weekend to buy a color, or 4 if committed.

But colors are a good thing to have as challenge rewards, especially if unique so even people who have unlocked colors get something out of it.

They've done one before where they gave out a free colour / camo for something and if you had it, you could select any one colour/camo instead.

That'd be great.
