Yeah, the numbers go up and down a bit. Lowest I've seen today is 6%. Can anyone beat that?

6% light mechs
15% medium mechs
45% heavy mechs
33% assault mechs

More than twice as many heavy mechs as light and medium mechs put together?

It's all working as intended, of course. Assault mechs are endgame, right?

Spoiler

EDIT: New **** has come to light.

Dude, it's not that light mechs are kinda ****** or anything. You just like, need to, you know, L2P!! And not get shot!! Ever!! Stay in cover!! Never move!! Only n00bs get shot by stuff!! Real light pilots are basically invincible!!

Trust me in my low Elo games where people stand still I do MAJOR damage. Like, I got a whole 400!! Beat that metacheezers!!!

I just saw 6% Light, 6% Medium, 48% Heavy and 40% Assault. No wonder I get 2/1/5/4 (Light to Assault) way more than 3/3/3/3.

I dunno if it's a "lights suck, why play one?" or a "Moar dakka gunz!" issue.

Maybe people prefer more guns to speed?

I can't stand Assault mechs and almost always queue lights or mediums.

Yea I've seen single digit numbers all day.

If PGI ever gets the game code to allow weight class specific modules, then maybe we can see the return of light mechs.

How about a 10,000 c-bill UAV for lights. Or a UAV that has three uses per match. Heck even up the c-bills for lights that use UAV, or TAG and BAP. Come on guys, look at your numbers. You know what we want. Do it already.

I havent seen it that low, but it doesn't suprise me.

I like piloting lights (especially the Raven 3L with ECM). I'm suprised more people don't pilot them. They are quick and agile, and still can due about 300+ damage a match. It isn't the high 600+ build of some mechs, but it can still score some good kills.

With the Raven 3L, within the past 30 matches I have played with it (not archived)...
KDR 3.07 (highest of all my mechs amazingly)
W/L Ratio: 1.50
Average Damage Per Match: 318

Seems like it is an effective and fun little guy to play. I don't do that well with my heavy mechs (kills anyway).

Stomping in a bigger mech with a lot of firepower can be fun, but I fell people are missing out when they aren't being all ninja in a light mech (and to some extent the Medium Cicada).

Working as intended is seems. The MM relaxes after a certain amount of time allowing things to end up the same as before the MM patch.

But people get to play the mechs they want. So meh.

I saw the low percentage, jumped in my Ember and do 3 kills/ 700 Dmg per match since. Surprisingly, I won as much games as I lost. New matchmaker is BS solo-pugging. Have dropped with terribads all day.

It's because you don't get rewarded squat for doing your part in Role Warfarce.

In a good game in my Kit Fox when I'm Narcing enemies left and right, switching ECM to counter, narcing ECM mechs, launching a UAV over 8 enemies, and giving stealth field to the Atlas Warhawk Direwolf I still get paid a measly 100k minus 40k for the UAV.

Now tell me why anyone would choose to do all that for almost no rewards. The only reason is because I paid real money for the thing and that's the sole reason.

If they would give decent rewards to lights for doing things other than dealing lots of damage and killing mechs you'd see more of them.

They should have released as many light mechs as heavy mechs, we could have avoided this whole situation.

Live and learn though.

it isn't helping that the fall damage is ridiculous on the lights.

not a L2P b.s......

there is no incentive to play as a light. you die easily, you can't carry all the meta, dakka, weapons so you don't get as many cbills and xp unless you are just really good in them.

everyone just wants lots of guns and lots of armor.

I like playing lights, it is almost all I use because I have fun in them and i like the fast pace but folks like me are far and few.

and right now, my bold statement above is KILLING light mechs before they can even try to be productive, specially ones that can't use JJ or won't carry JJ...the damage is unavoidable no matter how careful you are it also isn't a whole lot of fun when your fast mech is now a slow mech because you have to attempt to slowly navigate EVERYTHING. you either say on perfectly flat terrain or you start losing legs fast.

Without tonnage limits, there's not much incentive to run a medium mech right now. That, and the overwhelming draw of people wanting to play in their beloved iconic Mad Cat mechs is making the heavy queue, well...heavy.

There are more of everything than lights right now...because there are big, new, shiny, Clan machines that are begging to be mastered. Not because of any balance issues. Wow!
Relax! You'll see this for the next two -four weeks. Then things will even out again.

And I LOVE the Nova! There's a med for you!

If anything I'm surprised med mechs are showing such a low percentage.
