I was about to post the in-game VOIP would be the single largest missing tool in a team-based shooter.

I am not sure why it is surprising to anyone anymore, that camping some area, on any map, is a bad move.

Every map, if you camp some place (as a team... ok if you YOLO too, but thats a different issue haha) the enemy team will figure out where you are, get some idea if you are a bunch of poptarts, turtled up brawlers, lrm boats, if you have a bunch of ECM, whatever. Then they will move, and find some place to shoot you at their advantage.

To win, and this is pug area too now, you move. you do it to the other team before they do it to you. This is how it should be, the team that coordinates a flank maneuver more quickly has an advantage. Camping team might think they are doing ok and even score a kill or two, but in the end they are slowly taking more dmg from the enemy that has found an advantageous location and is dealing it out more then they are taking it, and the result is usually camping team goes up by 1 or 2, and then catastrophic failure of the camping team until they are down like 6, at which point they flee, making the match draw out a little longer, or camp steadfast and get rolled.

There's no "defend" mission style here, even the assault maps, you can defend a base- but only a select few of them are actually defendable with a good success rate and it takes smart play.

Honestly, between stories like OP and the threads where people are reporting 4 mans DC out of the match because its the group que and not pugs, seems like the "pugstomp" crews are a little shell shocked.

That's exactly what's happening right now. Hopefully people will adjust and learn to communicate. Playing in a 2 man tonight with my bro....we've already dropped against House of Lords....lol.....hopefully such encounters will jar people out of old habits and get them playing smarter.

The issue is that in group queue if youre nor the 12man tryhard you have to rush, hard. Given time and opportunity they will always out manuever and out shoot you.

Pack for face-eating.

Find enemy.

Get into groups. Call each lance general target enemy. Rush, Point blank. Only goal, take one with you to hell.

You will fail 99% at any other plan.

Expect to fail because you teammates are *******..

But how do you get people to understand this? Oh well....guess its finally time to make some friends and get in a bigger group.

You don't need voip if the other team is almost always in a fairly predictable spot.

We dropped against some of our own in several matches the other night, and one of our players told his team..."Look, I know these guys, this is what they are driving, this is what they will do...if we do this...we can beat them..."

What did the PUGs do? Exactly what he said we wanted them to do. We were setup overlooking a kill box, and one of the PUGs on his team said..."we should rush their position"...off they went into our kill box, and they died in a hail of energy weapons and ballistic fire as they streamed in...

Sometimes you simply cannot account for people being stubborn or ignorant...to quote Ron White..."You cannot fix stupid"

Repeated, painful experience.

It'll be a couple of weeks.

Then the pug queue will get more casual.

The group queue will get more focused.

No, you don't. But it's still a better tool than text or map commands to rally a pile of solo's into a coordinated mass. It won't ever take the place of practice and actual tactics, but it can get people working together.

Here is the issue -- LRMs./ They need to somehow limit the amount of Boats in the drops. Call it what you want but we all hide now because of this "Take cover when the LRM parade starts"..... OR "Hey don't hate on LRMs, take cover if you are bad you will die"..... SOOOOOO The end result now is camping hiding players with NO choice during the barrage of LRMS.

Plain and simple MM needs to figure out loads and how to match them. OR make AMS really good.
