Look at the RHOD season stats. That's considered to be the most competitive league, but only two of the teams are at the top, with some drastic falloffs from there. That means that during NA primetime, you might get faced up against those guys, but it's unlikely you'll face a serious comp team during most other playtimes.
Comp team boogeyman is strong since the last patch, when in reality it's mostly 5-10 man teams with smaller teams added on that are rolling some matches. Get better at communicating, or get better at dying.
Personally, I tell everyone to DIAF (Die In A Fire) before and after almost every match, win or lose. Am I angry, am I happy, am I a troll? Who cares, you should be busy dying in a fire somewhere.

Well I am loving this patch and the match maker. I have been dropping in 2-10 man groups and absolutely love it. Have not faced a boogy man 12 yet. Even if I do its one match, I can deal! Thank you pgi, this patch has made we want to play again!

Letting people play in larger groups is better for groups overall, even if there are a few select groups who only like to play against groups smaller than themselves.
Damn straight!

It is not that big of a deal, for me at least. I have done it really dont care its only one match and happens infrequently. Nothing to cry about, again for me.

My experience has not been like this. I play prime time est mainly. I love the 5-10 and have not found a 12 man yet, even if I do so be it its one match.

The biggest way to discourage solo players is by smashing them together with premade 4 mans on communications. There are only so many crushing defeats a solo player can take before giving up.
Yeah after I get stomped a few times I get too bored, the game gets boring even when I win several matches and do really well....it still is pointless without a real objective. CW is supposed to be that but I doubt it will be anything like we all want it to be.

I agree the game gets boring without objectives. However, being able to drop with more than 4 mates does make it better!

PGI has openly stated that the reason 5+ groups are not allowed in the solo queue is that it causes unbalanced games, i.e. stomps. They have the data, and I assume that they are able to see the win/ lose % behind it. So the complaint must have had some validity. Now yea, sometimes groups were made to be the bad guys, but from what I've seen it has been much better with them gone.
2-4 man groups have a valid point in that larger groups have them at a disadvantage. I just find it too funny to sympathize.
Here is an easy way to solve the "it's a group issue". Have the names of group members highlighted or numbered at the start of the game so we see who dropped with who. Easy and done. You know if it is a 10+2 or a 6+6 so no surprises.
It would be nice to see the data on group wins like Russ showed for the weight classes today.

We can now form groups of 6-10 - and later on maybe even 12.
Basic message is this:
1. Teamwork is OP - way more op than any xxxx Meta
2. Communication
3. Understanding and configuring your team's mech composition and loadouts
4. Understanding each other's playstyle and assigning roles to suit
5. Focus Fire
6. Lock down potentially dangerous opponents first
7. Understanding the map, the flow of battle and adapting
We've had GREAT fun with the latest matchmaker and we're not even comp units - just a bunch of people who like Mechwarrior, THIS is how MW is and supposed to be!
We're not HoL, SJR etc but I guarantee you - put any or even better, all the above when you form up as a group and MW will be far more enjoyable to you as well as your teammates and you will see this game is not about solo Rambo, it is all about teamwork.
I love the new matchmaker because I DON'T HAVE TO TELL THE 5TH GUY THAT WE'RE FULL UP! OH MY GOD, IT'S LIKE WE'RE PLAYING A MODERN VIDEOGAME, AND NOT SOME HOTSEAT HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC FROM 1994!
And it's hilarious watching the bads squirm that they need to pull their weight now.

Puresin if your friends quit after getting rolled in ONE MATCH, they are likely not that tied to the game any longer. Time to find like minded people.

For example, In 8 separate matches yesterday (myself being in a group of 9-10), one or more of the 2-3 that was given to us ran out stupidly with threir buddies, died, and then flamed the mm about 12 mans vs 6x2. They then universally left before anyone could finish typing that they were 3x4 or whatever setup and we were 1x9-10 + their little group of tactically undereducated MechBo-wannabes.
Bottom line: The scrubs and cryhards always need a boogeyman so they can rationalize continuing to suck and never getting better, and they will never listen to rhyme or reason about it ("LRMs are OP" threads, anyone?). And right now they have 2 big ones, Clans AND the MM, which tehy can use in addition to their usual repertoire of "Why I don`t suck and everyone else is lame" excuses, including but not limited to LRMS, Elo, Consumables, Bad teammates,....
Not really much to see here, I think....

If anyone from PGI is reading this:
WELL DONE WITH THE NEW MATCHMAKER AND CLANS THEY HAVE ADDED SOME CHALLENGE AND INTEREST TO THE GAME. THE ABILITY FOR MORE THAN FOUR OF MY FRIENDS BUT LESS THAN TWELVE TO PLAY TOGETHER IS FANTASTIC. IT MAKES FOR A FAR MORE ENJOYABLE AND SOCIAL EXPERIENCE, WHETHER WE ARE WINNING OR LOSING.
THANK YOU.

No more very long setups to play 12-man only to have the queue empty out after the one or two enemies lose a few games.
No more having to only play private matches and earn no cbills because of that.
Public teamspeaks have active groups again.
Oh man such joy
