So, no specific details. But maybe, in the future, try talking to the man? MWO is not burning, Russ doesn't have horns. They make mistakes. You make mistakes, I make mistakes. None of us like being called on them, and especially being constantly flamed on them.

You want answers? Asking seems to work. (Yeah, Twitter, instead of MWO. It's the weekend. Twitter is bang on your phone and done. I get it. Let the man have some family time)

I've found Russ and Niko to be really responsive on Twitter. Honestly, if I were a Dev I would be wary of these forums... It's like troll and flame thrower central in every thread here.

Agreed. I can't get Russ to answer EVERY inane question (still refuses to budge on Urbanmechs!) but for pressing stuff, he responds fast. Paul and Bryan, not so much.

OH happy days, even if they make a 5th category like they did for the hill climb system so that say sub 30 ton mechs have different numbers.

I have tried twitter so many times but I barely get replys, prob because I have grumbled on twitter once upon a time. Ah well congrats for getting a response

Edit: I may rethink (again) getting a stormcrow next week depending on how much money gets sucked up fixing some things on my car.

Yeah I tried talking by making a completely non-trolling, non-mwoisburning thread and also posting in other threads including the official one. Why can't we get answers on here first, which btw is also easily accessed from a smartphone. And then links to said answers on twitter for people that want that.

But in any case I'm happy, I just hope it isn't a small change but instead a big change that puts lights firmly as lowest percentage of damage taking by falls. Or raises that minimum speed for fall damage by a lot.

While Russ and Niko like twitter, Paul and Bryan prefer to be contacted via smoke signal.

Stupid autocorrect.

This is always followed by horrible news. ie. "Good news everyone. You have a shipment to take to the center of a black hole from which you will never return."

....so for this thread, "Good news everyone. Light mechs will no longer take falling damage, we're just going to remove those pesky legs altogether."

We need some leg love for the summoner too. Even with full armor 95% of the time I get legged in this mech.

Have you tried utilizing the shock absorption mod?

So er, can they fix it for mediums, heavies and assaults too?

To be honest, I do get upset with the fall damage. I can understand slightly wanting to hurt the utter pop-tarts that half the forum liked to whine about, but surely they should be penalised for pop-tarting if that's the aim and not everyone penalised for 'walking'. The amount of times I've seen leg damage for silly things on terrain which is 'glitchy' (to say the least) is painful. Maybe just say 40ft/sec from over 20m or something.. I mean, a 'poptart' would be falling from what, 80m minimum generally..

I reckon, old leg damage from falling, but over 50m.. big pain.
Just my opinion... xxx

They could just have fall dmg related to JJs on a mech. JJ mechs are able to avoid fall dmg completely, meaning a poptart can save it's legs better than a non poptart in the new anti-poptart fall dmg system.

I've been using this in all my jump capable 'Mechs, though my Kit Fox has never had any kind of problem with fall damage. I think once so far I've heard a warning about damage after a jump, but that was after a rather brutal weaving through half the Enemy team.

Honestly, If you aren't jumping off a cliff without using JJs at all, you should barely notice any damage to Legs, at least i sure as hell don't. Not even on my 171kph TDK.

Doesn't mean i wont like a reduction on that minimal fall damage i've been getting, It'll be nice, i just wont notice it any more than i do the fall damage we had before.

Physics does not just (fully) apply to people who who can momentarily defy gravity..

One pays the extra tonnage and slots in order to have more maneuverability- in this case, not having to be as concerned with their path of travel.

That said, I wish they would up the damage threshold to like 40 or 45.. you hit 30fps very quickly...

Cool, I want to see fall damage still matter for all mechs, including light mechs, but constantly bumping & scraping your legs just for running around small slopes and such is lame so it's good that they're planning on fixing it.

Um, no...? If you're using up all your fuel and then thrashing your legs on the way down from a huge drop then stop doing that.

Ha no. 3 JJs so plenty of fuel, thrust, and cushion. Coming down soft or hard = damage 99% of the time. Since most of the mediums that can jump AND brawl require some form of ammo in the legs, this became an immediate issue.
