The sheer stupidity and irony in that statement.... Welcome to MWO, where they're trying to do just that.

Yes, I know, and your point is? Is it that MWO is going to be as broken as every other CBT iteration of Mechwarrior in the past perhaps? Yes, I'm sure it will be. Assault Tech 1 is a pretty good comparison...

Type in or select crysis warhead, and it'll tell you what is "green" and what basically needs upgraded.
Might want to check Crysis 2 since MWO runs on CryEngine 3

So... let me get this straight you made an account here so you could ***** & moan? and so you can show what a MW:LL fanboy you are? If you dont like the game why are you here? Like you could do any better designing a game, atleast it'll be a dedicated game and not a mod. I respect the MW:LL team for keeping MW going along with Mektek & MW:4Mercs but those aren't well funded companies, they're small mod teams who have done quite well for designing "mods" for games.
The Mechwarrior Franchise was a rather ****** interpretation of BT, by a company(companies) that could've cared less about canon/balancing.
And my point is that you're statement was stupid, I'm sorry you couldn't grasp that concept.
Assault Tech 1 is also a crappy example of a video game.
So if you have that little faith in IGP and MWO being a great game GTFO.

I made an account here because, shock horror, I'm a mechwarrior / battletech fan, and wanted to get involved with another game in the franchise. Unfortunately things that I've seen are leading me steadily loose faith in this game, and I'll quite happily admit to that.
Dedicated game not a mod - some of the best games around were originally mods. Let's not also forget, that the only other games Piranha have ever made have been forgettable fishing and driving games, and a terrible movie tie in. I mean, you might be the biggest fan of Bass Pro Shops - The Strike and that's cool man, if virtual fishing is your thing and it gives you total faith in piranha to make a great mech game then you work that angle man.
You cuss previous mechwarrior games as being terrible examples of attempts at CBT balancing, even though games in the past have used the CBT statistics for weapons (mechwarrior 2 anyone?). You also call AT1, another clear devotee to the CBT ruleset, a, this was great so I have to quote it again, "crappy example of a video game." I mean seriously, how can you just say that, when the exact thing your defending for MWO, your completely slandering in another product that already uses those exact same numbers?? Oh lol I know, graphics will solve the inherent problems, right?
I don't think you even know the concept you think I'm failing to grasp buddy. You might want to take another look at your arguments and sprinkle in some rationality and reason.

Where in my entire argument did I say "graphics will solve inherent problems" ? Hm? I didn't, I said that IGP is well funded, comparatively speaking in regards to a mod team vs. a company. They have more resources & time than a mod team, who's jobs aren't developing games. The people who developed MW:LL and MekTek obviously had other things to do in life and weren't making a career out of it. Now I'm not saying they didn't have quality work, hell I love MW:LL and MekTek, however I'll put more faith into a company that the employees' jobs are creating a "proper" mechwarrior title. But again no where did I say "graphics will solve inherent problems", I'm not some spoiled console kiddie who thinks MOAR GRAPHICS = BETTUR. Which incidently consoles have crap graphics due to their crappy system specs and integrated graphics cards. I dont actually like most "high graphics" engines, they all have their negative sides. Example I really dont like the way that the Unreal engine does fire. So Pretty doesn't mean it'll function right.

Im sure anyone who pays attention to what companies develop what, know that IGP has developed some "less than desirable" games. But you're basically condemning them based on those games, and the fact that no one has properly translated TT rules to gameplay. Assuming that "history will repeat itself" and they'll inevitably mess it up.
I'd atleast wait and see before automatically judging the game before its even released, it is Free, meaning you can feel free to play it and then say "oh this is crap, why did I download it" but saying "oh it'll probably be complete crap" before its even out is what you sound like.

I have a q9550 @ 3.6, 8GB DDR2, 2x GTX 460's SLI I think I should be fine in MWLL. It is VERY CPU heavy being my q9550 is older in teh quad department and crysis wasn't meant for quad it runs like crap. That is my opinion. I think I'll be fine for MWO.

The Dire Wolf looks a little different than the "original". But so have a lot of designs across various games. It looks close, and pretty good. Seems fine to me.
And MW:LL is a fine game/mod/conversion. Some people like it and some people prefer other styles. No one is making you play any of them.
There. Can we all go back to at least trying to pretend like the internet isn't full on filled with stupid?

After 2+ years of tweaking, were at a happy point.
But as far as making all the weapons useful, I'd happy throw my hat in the MWLL bucket where AC2/5 have specialized roles as anti air or ba weapons and even the machine gun is useful (against BA's).
all other MW games have had a hard time making those weapons useful when (by CBT values) a single medium laser is far superior in terms of damage, weight, and cost.

The Daishi looks like the same crap in MW4. Its not original...and so it sucks sorry. So much i like the effort of the Dev's but this mod never can replace a full Mechwarrior game like MW:O.
maxx
They arent trying to make a mechwarrior replacement this is purely a mod. it could never replace a fully developed mechwarrior however they were doing a very good job at what they were doing and i give them props. developing a mod of that scale must have been extremely difficult. so i give em props and you should two.
