Seeing this I thought of a suggestion for matches. The option to allow non-DC'd players to vote on forfeiting a match. If more than 75% of the players currently connected to the match on the voting team vote to end the match then the match will end with the opposing team winning.

This would allow matches to end without having to wait 20 minutes for the other team to find a DC'd player or a powered down mech, or for a slow atlas to make it to your base to cap it.

Sure this might open the possibility for people to give up the match when they could still win but it would be a team decision to give up.

As good as a suggestion as this is, it's too easy to abuse. Trust me, I know 2 people in WoW who abused the heck out of the vote to kick feature for laughs.

When a mech DCs it should automatically become dead, so that's one thing out of the way. To power down and refuse to participate in a match should be considered griefing and be an offense that if done repeatedly is bannable.

I'd consider this if only players whose mechs are still active could vote, as I suspect this is just a thinly veiled "My assault mech can't chase down light mechs" thread.

I would not support this idea under any circumstances.

Nope! I'd never agree to giving other players authority over how I want to play my matches. Neither do I want such authority over other players.

I also consider this thread a continuation of a topic I recently closed and therfore close it as well.
