... when PrtScn and Ctrl + V stop working for Photoshop. What gives here... I'm not very computer compatible, but this seems strange. I'll give you three examples of how this tends to work. Any help would be most appreciated.

print screen puts the photos to your MWO game folder, under USer.
You can export them to your editor of choice from there.

Did you setup a Screenshots folder in your USER file?

Having to to go to windowed mode to get screenshot is normal.
I believe it is a windows thing..
Anyway... I think OP doesn't know that pressing 'PrintSceen' in game will automatically make a screenshot and it is saved in the MWO user folder.

C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER
check that path or something similar, basically you can just do a search for Mechwarrior Online and the folder will be right there

I do not promote this game.
Even WT, with its USSR-esque forum purges, badly biased models, all that jazz - is still fun.
You can jump into a game and have fun. Play it alone, or with 4 friends and you can still enjoy it.
You won't be told to "L2P" or "join a group" to have fun. And I only play simulator battles.
In this...
You need to view a tutorial just to figure out the UI, no tutorials, insane P2W monetization, bugs, game stealing your MC and C-bills, "matchmaker" (haha), no tiering for new players, cut-and-paste FPS arcade gameplay that lacks the depth of even Titanfall. Basically WoT with soft-target robots, minus the balance.
Screenshots could not convey this, so I just tell them. Won't fool friends with pictures.

There's just so many more important things this game has (or lacks) to worry about a nit like printscreen functionality. Blame Microsoft's DirectX if you must for not just providing that capability automatically for any game using it.
