There are better ways to address this.

You know we're talking about Conquest here right?
Sure, light mechs can dash from point to point, but both teams should have light mechs.

Not only that, the fatties can simply defend a point if they wish, where they'll still have the fire power advantage.
Fast caps in conquest will bring an end to death balls, and I can only see that as a good thing.
