As for the JJ nerf, it was needed, I think they went just a tiny bit too far with it.

Honestly here is my take.

Heavy mechs even with full JJ are not jumping very high for that much tonnage invested.

The heat generated is absolutely neglible, in that it ONLY prevents you from cooling off when using.


Increase the jump height when at <=4 Jets and increase heat output.

Done.



The Highlander's JJ's right now especially considering the tonnage is a farce.

As much as i miss my full jump jet Heavy Metal when it comes down to it, it has been incredibly nice not having to deal with the bobbing of entire teams jump sniping. Maybe after a few months when everyone has learned to actually play mechs i wouldn't mind a heighth adjustment.

Heh. Probably because he wants to separate this petition from all those shady, unofficial petitions that lack credibility. This one is actually official, personally sanctioned by Mister D and given his stamp of approval. This isn't just any run of the mill petition, if that's what you thought.

I'm happy with these changes, less poptarts on the field and more interesting ground fights, also i think the jump jet system simply needs a complete overhaul and would work so much better if they where more like the MWLL JJ mechanics.

Yes.


I would very much like to see the changes reverted until a better system can be conceived to take their place. In tabletop, one of the primary reasons to use jump jets was to be able to jump over buildings on urban maps and jump to the top of hills that were too steep to climb. The new mechanic prevents assault mechs from doing this the way they should.

Depends on the gundam.
08th Mobile Suit squad's jumpjets are very tabletop Battletech-like.

But no flying. It's literally launch and land with only the ability to turn (but not redirect too well).

I think JJ's should actually have a lot more forward thrust as well, more of an arc type jump not this pogo stick one.

I don't want jump jets reverted. I want them better even than before. They jet too slow and are not fun. They can become fun AND not only used for jump sniping if they were to jet faster and farther in the air. MWLL proved that because you had to be higher in the air, you spent more hang time in the air, which is more time to be shot at.

By having slow jets all you are doing is allowing jump snipers to line up their shot more easily just over an obstacle by the smallest amount. Of course jump jets as they are now are so terrible it may stop many jump snipers, but you'll also pretty much remove any need for jets other than feathering falls or walking up steep terraces (which only 1 jet is needed for). Why have jets in the game if that is all they can be used for?

I have no problem with the changes, and this is from someone who likes to run around in Victors (none meta), Shawks, Firestarters, and Black Jacks.

However, I do agree that there needs to be more forward thrust but that's about it.

Btw...I vote no. Jumping, whether it be for sniping or for maneuver, needed more cost vs reward and more deliberate thought and this change forces those decisions.

A compromise maybe but previous values? No.
