And any further nerfs would make LRMs worthless, just as they were before.

BAH! Even when LRMs were worthless, I still made them effective. However, that will be much harder now, since jump Highlanders are pretty nerfed.

There is now so much complexity in the way LRMs work that using them effectively is a nice challenge (think ECM, radar dep, AMS, Artemis, slow missile flight speed, tag, NARC, dumbfire, different flight paths, etc). Anyone can use them, but to make them work well takes real skill and understanding, particularly in pug matches where you have to be be totally self sufficient.

If the OP is looking for effective weapons so simple that a monkey could use them he might like to consider the autocannons...

The new Lrms are a "**** you" from PGI to the competitive scene.
Seriously i dont understand the " 80 dmg guided pinpoint dmg to my CT ****"
My daughter is 16 and she said that the game looks cool. She never plays this kind of games.
So i put her in tutorial and testing grounds with an lrm boat.
The first 2 games AFTER THE TUTORIAL havent been that good but in the third she made 700 dmg and 3 kills.

There is no discussion that LRMS are No SKill weapons.

ROLL BACK LRMS NOW!

Are you a solo puggie? if yes you are LRM fodder

Are you a regular group queue player? if yes learn to pay attention!

Stop spamming pointless images.

The fact is lrms aren't very useful in group play yet cause real issues in PUG gameplay (which you know is 80% of the games nowadays so get off our "group play is all that can ever matter" pedestal.) All is takes is 1 or 2 people to et picked off or crippled by lrms to decide a game and it is TOTALLY effortless to have 100+ lrm volleys trained on one person every couple of second from safely behind enemy lines with just one decent ECM spotter and bad luck with teammates ( no ECM on your team) especially with a map like caustic or alpine. No other weapon system can as easily focus that much dps onto a single mech and do so without any risk to the shooters. At the same time they can be wasted tonnage if you are facing 4+ ECM mechs and everyone has radar derp module (because those pieces of **** are overpowered as hell, which should be clear to everyone by now considering how radar derp is on almost every mech in the group queue nowadays.

One module (Radar deprivation) should not make or break a ******* weapon system. It should be balanced around not having it and with the module should come a fairly small advantage.

Yep.

And what a lot of them don`t realize is that many of us that take LRMs are actually MORE dangerous without them, oftentimes while still in the LRM mech.

I can`t even begin to count the times someone has whined about my LRMs, only to be laid out by my 4 ML instead. And then still whine ybout the LRMs :) :P

Youre bad, and should feel bad for trying to use your "daughter" to justify this fail on your part.

Might want to remove your sig before making posts like that, makes your whole unit look bad. Just FYI.

I played 10 games last night and saw NOTHING of the sort. In the solo queue no less.

Want to know what dictated who won matches? The team that was aggressive won EVERY time.

And none of my matches involved anything more than 2 maybe 3 LRM users on either side.

you sir are not correct, my team has been running a LRM group in 12 man private matches and has had some success. Now i would not recommend running it over and over and over, as teams will know its coming, But, as part of a rotation it can be very successful. Now as for public group play, we have run it in configurations of 4+ and yes varying degrees of success, but it successful.

The funny thing about these threads is that just about everyone is correct in some way...except the idiots who think they take no skill whatsoever.

LRM's require no aiming? Correct.
Bad players flock to easy to use weapons? Correct.
LRM's can be OP (force multiplier when fired indirect) or useless? Correct.

What many people don't seem to realize is that it's not the weapon itself that kills you, it's you!

The target has such a huge effect on the effectiveness of LRM's, to the point where if you know how to use cover well to move around the map you will never need any countermeasures and will rarely get hit by LRM's and just about never die to them.

Low skill players kill you because you have low tactical skill.

In my matches it is extremely hard to do as well in my CPLT-C1 as i do in my JM6-S (both have stock weapons). Why? Because my opponents generally know how to use cover while advancing.

No matter what you think of LRM's, if you are getting killed by them it is because you have not, or refuse to learn how to use terrain effectively.
If you just want to run about in the open without worrying about tactics i beg you, please uninstall and go play Hawken or something else instead of trying to make MWO even less of the "thinking persons shooter" than it already is.

It's honestly baffling to read some people's description of the game. I realize that people's experiences vary, but when it sounds like a completely different game than what I'm playing, it makes me wonder.

Surely a lot of these types of comments are exaggerated. Which is fairly pointless if you ask me. Do people think that this will help their cause?
