I can't play anymore because I designed a mech slightly wrong?

I tried to change a mech little, then tried to enter a game. It said I had a critical slot violaton. If I try to go into the mech lab to see what is wrong it says that due to the critical slot violation it must strip everything from it. So then I get into the mech lab and it is stripped, and gone. It's all gone. You can see it on the mech on the way in, but once it strips it it's all gone and I've got nothing to put back on.

So I guess I can't play anymore because I made some slight mistake on slots? Is there any way out of this or am I done with this game already because I am definately not using trail mechs without the cadet bonus to by back 10 million worth of stuff.

Try instead of stripping everything just strip equipment.

You are not the first person this has happened to. It is a bug/glitch.

If stripping the mech and rebuilding did not work you will have to email support@mwomercs.com

It's not that you designed the mech wrong, but after saving you may have thought to tweak with something else a little too quick, causing the game to accidentally add some of the previous loadout to your new loadout.

For example once when this bug started I changed an Atlas from single heatsinks to doubles, and saved. Then edited the loadout and saved quickly after. This time, I had 1 single heatsink mixed in with all the doubles (it isn't supposed to happen) and so the build was invalid.

Another person I know redid a loadout, saved, but decided to change his half ton of ammo for another half ton of armor. In doing so, somehow his lasers multiplied so in arms that should only have one energy hardpoint each, they had two energy weapons each.

Thanks, I sent them an e-mail. I guess I can't play until they restore my account. The timing really sucks, I had been wasting money tweaking it to make it actually work well and I am pretty sure I have it this time and now I can't even try it:-(

It's a recent, admittedly annoying bug. A good way to avoid it is after saving your loadout, wait 20 seconds before attempting to do anything else to it. Whatever you do, do not switch mechs and then switch back within 20 seconds of saving a loadout. Out of 4 attempts to recreate the bug I had 3 loadout violations.

Good idea, but so you know, strip the mech. Save. Exit the game. Get a drink, maybe a bite to eat. Come back, you should have all your stuff in the 'inventory' as already bought and paid for. It'll be waiting to be put back on the mech.

(This method takes roughly 15 minutes. Don't know why it takes so long. Technically it'll happen at about 15 minutes even if you're playing through a match.)

I've got 126 mechs and 129 mechbays. For a little while after the June 17th patch I'd get it randomly and oh god it was so annoying. By the patch at the beginning of the month they had some measures to make it easier to solve on our end..but no progress and a slightly worse problem (the objects don't appear in the inventory for awhile after stripped bug).
In the end, I kinda sorta figured out what causes it and so after I save a loadout I just switch to another mech and play a match. Then I switch back, giving the mech an entire match to sit and 'save' and do whatever it has to do on the server side to save my build.

Interesting. up until now, I only had old and new lodouts overlapping, overloading my critspace and weapon hardpoints, but I've yet to encounter equipment dissaperances. I'll make sure to remember your tip in case it happens to one of my 'Mechs.

Strip the mech. Save. You'll get all the items back in the inventory. it may take some time for the changes to catch up but the items will be back.

In the meantime you can still pilot trial mechs ...

I had an IM do something similar, I edited loadout, saved, then quickly realized a change. When i went to save again all his hardpoints had doubled in the arms (weapons included) and he had a violation (obviously) took almost 2 hours for the stuff to show back up ion inventory?! Luckily i have over 50 mechs and i just waited. But yea its quite an annoying well known bug unfortunately.

Good luck, Support will also help you. They are decent and quick to respond most the time and I'm sure they can fix ya up!

Yeah, I encountered this weird bug myself.
Most of the time it was a kind of misplacement/doppler
like : Mech has 4 energy slots BUT somehow it got saved
with 5 (!) lasers. Showed up as a -1 at the corresponding
energy slot (normally 0 when all slots in the mech part
are filled).
Other experience: A full (ES/FF/DHS) slotted Mech got
saved with 1 DHS more than I had inserted (virtually a
ghost DHS).

Try re-doing the last step(s) during configuration
and save now and then.

Good luck.

This has happened to me a couple times. While the stripped components didn't show up in my inventory (the XL engine showed as a zero), when I reinstalled them, I wasn't charged for them, even though the mechlab wasn't showing that I owned said components. It's a weird glitch, for sure.

I just wish that it didn't force you to strip your mech when you have a slot violation and go to edit it. I have one mech that all I need to do is remove one ton of ammo or a heatsink and the mech will be fine, but instead of doing that I would be required to rebuild the entire mech. Probably a minor inconvenience for most but annoying enough that I haven't even bothered with the mech since it decided it was no longer a valid build.(I think the devs added hand actuators to it or something.)

I'm a few dozen mechs behind you, but without a doubt the inventory changes and saves take progressively longer as you have a larger inventory to edit. I suspect if you have 10 bays your server cycle may not be 15 minutes.

Reasonable. I should note the 15 minute timer is based on PGI's delay to deliver goods after earning them through "challenges," i.e. the free mech challenge.

In which: Results are updated 15 minutes after each match. (And typically at roughly 15 minutes and some seconds, the delivery occurs). The wait for me to have things returned to me was about just as long. Though considering it's not a delivery system but an inventory correction it may take less time for someone with far fewer mechs.

Play a trial mech while you are waiting for your account to be fixed

I have run into a bug not too long ago, where the system stacked two heatsinks in the same slots. took me 20 minutes to figure out what was wrong with my build. I could however still edit the build just fine. I wonder if this strip requirements i a new thing to avoid the complication of manually finding the issue? I believe I ended up striping half the sections to find the problem.

in the mean time get your build done in smurfy (http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/) so you do not forget it when you get your mech back.

Had this exact same thing happen to me a week or so ago. I ended up sending an email to support and everyone is saying it correctly above. You click on the configure button and it takes you to the mech lab with a stripped mech, but not your equipment in inventory. You still have to click strip mech for the equipment to show up. Once you do that you can then reconfigure. A pain but I was definitely releived since I thought because it put me in the mech lab when I hit config that I had lost everything. You haven't so good luck.
