I was just in a match where I was sitting on a ledge just outside of the cave entrance on Forest Colony, and I was firing away at some enemy's that had emerged from the tunnel when I suddenly exploded.

The Obit said I killed myself, but all I was packing were UAC5's and 2ML's. I had no heat whatsoever.

I thought maybe I had unwittingly killed myself from firing into an object next to me and suffering splash, but then I realized, I don't think UAC5's have splash.

Anyone have any ideas as to what happened?

Were you close to the map out of bound areas?

That's what I was thinking.

I don't think you can go out of bounds where I was on the map

Yes, he was! :(

That ledge is known for being a killer spot.

Really? I was out of bounds?? I received absolutely no warnings.. No flashing lights telling me I was out of bounds.. No voice alert.. Strange

Could be missed in combat, plus there are spots on other maps that have no warnings. There's also, to my understanding, "hard kill" zones, where you just don't get any warnings.

I know, I know, a bit lame.. then again, Forest could do with a revamp to make it bigger IMO. How that ship got in is beyond me...

If you've got missile warnings I've had them override the out of bounds warnings before. Quite annoying.

That's why it is so dangerous. No, really I have no idea why you got no warning. You are not the only one who died there, completly surprised. I died there once as well, with complete shock and once I saw the warning in the last possible moment. Sometimes the warning might be overridden with a base attack or incoming missle warning, but usually it should show up.

No missile warning.. It was frustrating because no one seemed to notice my Cat sitting there pummeling them, and then BOOM!... Oh well, thanks for the input.. I guess I must have been out of bounds.. Feel a bit silly, noobish mistake I haven't made in quite some time.

Now I don't feel as embarrassed.. And you are right, there were others there with me who didn't have a problem. I was over a bit from them, perhaps my pinky toe was over the line.

I've noticed something odd about going out of bounds too - if you move your mech in reverse, and back out of bounds, it doesn't give you the 10 seconds you should have to get back in... you just die in like 1 or 2 seconds.
