I have 2 mechs with the basic skills complete and 1 or two others with some complete.

I discovered the 'pilot' tab and the unlocks available there so checked my 'GXP'


I only have 425 GXP. I thought it is earned at 5% of xp....

Should I have more?

Can GXP accidentally be used with normal xp in levelling a mech?

It is possible that if you did not have sufficient Mech XP that you could have spend GXP.

I'm currently leveling Griffins and saw that when I do not have enough Mech XP, the Pop-up just asks if you want to unlock, with GXP at the very end.
When you have enough Mech XP the Pop-up shows a toggle between the two types.

Here is how that looks like, I've got 2,349 XP on my mech and more than 2,500 GXP available so I get these two:

Also, have you checked your Profile and Stats page here on the site before?

Stats - here you can switch between Current and Archived values.

From there, you can take a look at the XP values to compare with in-game, although now that I look at the website numbers I wonder if that also includes individual Mech XP, I could be wrong. I need to google to see what I can fine about this to make sure.

GXP can be very easily accidentally spent. If you have 999 XP and attempt to buy a skill that costs 1000 XP you will be prompted to spend 1000 GXP. If you do not read the prompts in full it may appear that you are spending XP but the prompt will say GXP.

Ive probably spent it accidentally..... that's a pretty crap system for beginners!
