AND revert all other gauss nerfs to date.

Especially the charge time one.

Maybe they could keep the gauss explosion thing, and finally give it a message that won't confuse newbies.

"All other Gauss nerfs to date" is kind of misleading, because the only nerfs that I can remember were making it explode and giving it a charge up. Otherwise, it actually has somewhat higher health post-charge than it used to, and a much faster projectile speed (2000 m/s vs 1200 m/s).

They are seriously going to do that!? If they do, remove the charge mechanic from the Gauss Rifle. Because, it would no longer be needed. Since, not letting you fire a Gauss Rifle and PPCs at the same time defeates the purpose of why the charge mechanic was implemented in the first place. (Desync PPC and Gauss Rifle).

W/ a capacitor system, you wouldn't need a charge mech (who's entire job was to add some flow control to gauss fire spam).

If there is energy in cap enough to fire, you fire. Cap recharges at a linear rate. PPC draws from cap, perhaps a slightly lower rate than gauss, so there is a tad of overlap.

The system would work fine, and I'd have my old "brawlin'" gauss back -- I can manage cap use (thank you EVE!) easier than dealing with a 2 second window of usage for a weapon.

It's still one of the best weapons in the game, even if they implement this. If anything, the projectile increase was more of a buff than the chargeup was a nerf (with adv. zoom, it's very hard to miss anything going until 100kph) as long as you're not trying to sync-fire it with anything else.

What about the HP nerf?

That's too logical and would lead to too much fun.

Honestly if the package was:

1) Nerf PPC/Gauss linked usage
2) but Gauss charge up removed

I would be all over this like it's the last drop of beer on Earth.

I'm not against this but if they're going to remove the charge up the need to drop the projectile speed back down. Gauss are stupidly easy to hit with at 2000m/s.

I am against this because Gauss needs to be a pwn cannon, but I would accept this if it meant no more of that idiotic charge mechanic.

Sorry guys but making a Gauss explode is not a Nerf. It is returning it to its normal operating parameter. The Charge, though I don't like it, Does simulate the minimum range from TT pretty well. So to me, Gauss is working as intended.

:P I feel dirty now.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I want them to be good, but with no charge at that speed we'd have more dual-gauss sniping than we already do. PP FLD needs to take skill to deliver, since it's pretty clearly going to stay the dominant damage delivery mode.

BE STILL MY ****ING HEART!

... I mean gosh yes that would be terrible. Lower the speed.

(or make it travel at an EVEN HIGHER VELOCITY but lose that speed rapidly, so I can easily swat those pesky squirrels, who all deserve to die in a single alpha anyway).

:P?

Out of curiosity why did it have a min range on TT?

For some reason the initial post that had a direct link to the podcast is nowhere to be found, and I can't be bothered to go on google, so that will have to do :P.

In short; They mentioned it in an interview with NGNG.

Because it was a super jesus cannon and could dish out TEH PWN at super long ranges, beheading enemy mechs and... doesn't afraid of anything.

Or something :P.

Not sure what the canon reason was.
