but what would be the result of your idea?
balanced loadouts wouldn't be needed anymore, all the brawlers would play the river and frozen city maps.
all the lrm boats would play alpine, tourmaline and caustic
all the ballistic boats would play is terra therma and caustic so they can use their lack of heat
all the energy boats would only play colony snow, frozen city or alpine, so they never overheat and you would see 4+ ppc boats
no.
the way it is set up now you have to think about all of that and not be a dead duck in any maps - which in turn helps to balance gameplay and make it more fun

what he said. you can't allow people to customise load outs for maps, because it breaks the game.

i like all the maps its playing the same map 7 out of 10 drops that gets up my nose never happens with my favorite maps either

I don't mind it, some days it's Terra Therma, some days it's Caustic, then Alpine, etc. I'll play over 100 matches a week when I feel like it so I see all of the maps fairly frequently, it's the repetitive gameplay that annoys me the most.

I want 3050 night vision, not 1985 night vision. Seriously, the Night Vision goggles I used in the army in the late 90s were way better than what my fusion powered pinnacle of technology uses in MWO.

- Alpine isnt broken the players are. Noone wants to explore different ways to play the map. Everyone always assumes the only way to win is to get on top of Moron Mountain. Then a whak a mole fight insues.... how exciting. There are other areas of the map to use.
- Forest Colony is too small.

Lets see, 25000 or so Masakari pakages sold = $6 Million dollars.
I could make alot of good maps for 6 mil.... Not an excuse by no means... CW is going to be a huge joke without a massive database of maps/worlds to play on.

I like Therma... I like Alpine... I like HPG (despite the hitboxes).
I remember way back in CB when Caustic was the target of ire... Even Forest Colony was on that list too. My how times change.
We need more maps, not less! Whine less, adapt more.

The biggest issue however would be the matchmaking. Let's say you form a group of 12 and among you every map has a veto ... how do you form a match? Or you are in a group of 4 and there end up being only 2 or 3 maps that you want to play in common ... the queue times go way up and you wind up begging for the maps you hate since you are bored of the ones you can get. Even in the solo queue ... either your preferences will mean that you wait longer (possibly much longer) or your preferences force others to play on your preferred maps (since the matchmaker can't put you in a match on the maps you don't like ... so automatically the others come up more often).
In conclusion, learn to play and have fun on all the available maps ... if you don't want to play on certain maps then set up a private match and play what you like. Develop fits that can work on any of the maps ... for example, some of my light mech fits will include an ER large laser so I can do damage at long as well as short range.

I love Terra Therma. It's one of the best designed maps to ever come out. Seriously, I personally think it's THE best map in the game so far. A close second is Canyon and HPG. Alpine is third.

Good argument, but has too many flaws. So I guess not so good.
The maps don't just pop out as soon as you deposit the money. It takes time to design and test them. You want PGI to crank out more maps faster. They need a bigger team to work on them. They are working on maps, and sadly the next two are still a a couple months away from being released.
