Just a vague idea to create an incentive to play lights? They'd become the only units which could threaten with base-cap, which would make a light-advantage meaningful and dangerous.

Not only would this mean they could cap, but they could also gut the turrets with immunity.

Pretty sure turrets were designed to prevent early game light base cap rushes. Making them immune to turrets (for "reasons") makes little sense and defeats the very reason for them being there.

On this subject, how about we make turrets stop prioritizing smaller mechs as their targets. I always get singled out by turrets in my medium even when I duck in and out of cover to lose locks.

Actually turrets are flawed so can exploit that. All laser turrets target the legs exclusively so step behind knee high cover and cook that turret without damage. Just check you killed the lurm turrets first.

I would think the turrets targeting legs would tell you what they are made to kill :D

What if turrets had no maximum range, and immediately began raining missiles on spiders, jenners, and firestarters from the beginning of the match? I think that would lead to a more enjoyable match for most of the players.

What if my ballistic mech could catch other people's ballistic rounds to re-use as my own ammo. And confetti canisters, I want some to fire off when ever my side wins a match. And make me immune to PPCs by converting their shots into cotton candy. Let my mech convert excess heat into hip-hop radio transmissions. Give my Cicada teeth so I can disable Timber a Wolves by biting them on the ankles.

omg, how can you even suggest that! that would mean all that people that allways drop as heavy as possible, bringing no lights or mediums, could possibly lose to one of two win conditions...how dare you even think such blasphemy!

i would rather suggest, REMOVE towers. if you dont wan to think about your positioning or any tactics (even if there are only 2) go play ******* skirmish!

i love winning by cap when down 3 or 4 kills...the enemy qq is amazing!

While you both have /some/ (emphasis here on "some") merit to your arguments. You are both coming at it froma flawed perspective. When was the last time you tried to base rush in a light?

I'll tell you when my last one was. 2 days before they halved the turret HP from 60 to 30. Do you know what happened? I was in an Ember, and I soloed all the turrets on Crimson strait. All I needed was one other mech with me to help cap quickly. 1 Ember, took down all the turrets, because I positioned myself so I only had one of them firing at me at a time, and was always within the 75 meter minimum range of missile turrets. I was running the standard 4ML 4MG build by the way.

With the way turrets are right now, it's very easy to base rush and cap with just one light. If you give me a light with ECM you might as well pack up and go home. one base cap coming right up.

What people seem to forget about why lights aren't played as often as other weight classes boils down to this:
Spoiler

That's the short of it.

Poor OP, now that I look back on it he may been trying to make a fun suggestion, no matter how ludicrous and nonsensical it was.
