I was just wondering if any of them are around. I myself played and briefly worked at the Battletech Center in Chicago at Navy Pier. My callsign was Poseidon. I played there from 1992 until it was bought up by Dave & Busters. Also played at D&B's in Detroit for a while. I have very fond memories of playing in the pods!

Send out a shout if you know what I am talking about.

OHHHHHHHHHHH.....the tylenol...Owens and the pee pee dance.. going insane trying to stop coolant leaks and stay alive...more buttons than carter has little liver pills. I blew so much money on those for a while until they disappeared one week. Made the 4 of us that used to go and dominate them all day on Saturday very sad.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Coolant leaks were something to behold! I was around even before those though. Way before the Tesla pods.

Good old Tesla II pod's. I have a post about that somewhere around here. I want MWO to allow us to split things off the main screen like enemy mech readout, radar and stuff. so we can make our own pods ;)

Atayu...that would be awesome. I always loved the feeling of immersion the Tesla II pods gave you. It felt more real than sitting in front of a monitor at home.

I played at the Chicago BattleTech Center many times. Some friends and I would road trip from college in St Louis to Chicago for the weekend. We would crash at one of the guys parents' house in Elgin. Play TT some, a few hours of paintball, then trek into the city for some BattleTech Center. We would rent out 6 of the pods and do 3 vs 3 matches.

Good times!

I still have a tshirt with a Vulture on it. Not to mention my Battletech Center jacket with my mission pins on it. I should post them on here.

I even kept my AAR (after action reports). I have several hundred of them. Including one where I beat Maccaulay Culkin! ;)

Dude, I played many times with Thumper and Badger also! If you are talking about the ones in Chicago, then we probably met. My callsign was Poseidon. Ever played with Banshee?

Nothing like having to fight the pod more than the other 5 people trying to kill you. Hmmmm ... I have a leak going on, a generator down. Let me reroute that. Hmmmm ... ammo on fire. Tidy bowl tunnel of death.

I cannot blame you. It's been many years. Most of the youngsters here problably don't even know what we are talking about. I'll have to go through some of my AARs to find your name and post it here.

They had some of those pods at the Wizards of the Coast gaming center here in Seattle, back in the '90s. I used to hang out there with my friends, and in fact that was the first time I had to come up with a callsign for something competitive... and since it was clan tech, I went with WardenWolf which has stuck to this day :)

Sadly there were none in my local area. But I do remeber finding out about via a televised tournament in Las Vegas. When we happened to go on a famialy trip to Vegas I made sure to play 2 of the 4 days we were there.

I'm with MechCorps out of Houston. Been playing in their Tesla II pods for about 5 years now and helping them out on the convention circuit. I missed out on the square pod and Dave & Buster days, so I'm not old school like most of the guys I know from that group. I'm at about the 400 mission mark since I cared to keep count.

As per my sig file, Laser Park in NYC, Dave and Busters Palisades, Pompton Pod Bay, and now MechCorps.

And we're taking 6 of the pods to San Antonio this weekend.....

I am not one of the old BattleTech Center Employees... I AM a current BattleTech Center Owner... does that count? Or am I just the man now? :)

Seriously though I have a whole bunch of the guys that used to work at the Wizards Of The Coast Game Center in Seattle back around the turn of the millenium. They come here at The Airlock in Kirkland WA all the time, or at least keep in touch on facebook or w/e. We also frequently see some of the VWE guys like Firestorm, _Mantis_, Arioch, Super, Dr. Cuervo, and others... People who worked for the original VWE sites likely know those guys!
