this isn't specific to this patch, but more a criticism of the UI2.0 adding a BUNCH of confirmation boxes and extraneous clicking.

it takes *4* clicks to confirm that I want to learn a mech skill. it should take no more than 2.

1 to select the skill.

2 to confirm my selection (on this dialog box there should be a drop down/checkbox selecting which type of xp to use, not a seperate dialog box to select which type of xp to use, and then yet another dialog box to confirm that i want to buy the skill).

I should not have to click to clear the "task successful" box, it should just be a message in the UI, not an additional dialog box with an "OK" button. what is the point of forcing to user to confirm that "yes, we saw that you were sucessful"

This also reflects on a number of other areas in the UI as well that makes it seem like i do 3x as much clicking as i used to in the old UI.

PGI is going to owe me a new mouse soon, i click my mouse more navigating the UI than i do while playing the game.

oh, and it wouldn't be so bad, if the "OK" or "NEXT" boxes weren't so SMALL and weren't moving around as each dialog puts it in a slightly different spot. it's especially bad on a 4K display where the dialog boxes are tiny to start with. the UI should be able to zoom/rescale based on resolution. see Dota2 for an excellent example on how the UI stays the same size even if the screen resolution quadruples.

I agree completely. It just takes way to long to do conceptually simply things. For example, god help you if you want to change modules between mechs each match. Between clicking through the UI and waiting for the saves, it just takes far to much time.

Everything of practical use (buttons and information) is scaled WAY to small and everything cosmetic (but ultimately of no actual use) takes up way to much space on screen. Its great that I can see my mech, but does it really need to take up that much space, especially since so many of the mechs dont even reflect what I have actually put on them?

Will pay yellow cash for this options in game settings
"never spend global xp on mech skills"
"never ask for confirmation on c-bill only purchases"
"never ask for confirmation on mech xp only purchases"

Among so many obvious things that need to be fixed regarding the User Interface.
Very true.

Rules of designing a UI, nothing should be more than 3 clicks away.

Agreed, another great one on a tripplescreen is quiting the game. Click logout at the lower left corner on the left screen, confirm in the center of the center screen, click exit on the password screen in the lower right corner of the right screen, confirn in the center of the center screen.
Now I'm a nutcase playing on 3 42" screens so this is bound to give me whiplash, or just press alt-F4 in the Mechlab and hope nothing gets corrupted.

I always alt+f4, the "right" way is just too tedious. And I don't bother spending mech XP until I can do an entire tier at once just to avoid as much irritation as possible.

Not to mention configuring mechs is a pain in the ass. Click a component, click weapon category you want, click weapon you want, repeat for every item you want. Bonus, keep in your head everything you already loaded in, or click again to view your whole mech configuration so far.

And god help you if you actually want to find a piece of equipment located on one of your mechs.
