I'm getting to the point of shooting my teammates in the back because they don't give a *@## and could care less about playing as a team either! Just got took out by a Jenner in frozen city. I'm getting really sick of this ****. I can't tell how many times I've started at the back just to get took out by some stinking dam messed up light! The *##@ ass lights should start at the back! I really feel the devs did that since they are light lovers! Thats also why Victors got the axe, couldn't have Vic killing to many lights now could we?

It has been my experience that PUGs either cant read or ignore chat ... so not sure who you are addressing this Public Service Announcement to. Only you can protect your Dire Wolf ... either drop in groups or Assault only.

I try hard to support the Whales in my lance / team. They are usually the mechs packing the most serious heat and that tends to come in handy for winning a match.

HOWEVER......I draw the line at support if the Whale driver decides to get stupid - charging into a bunch of enemy mechs thinking they're invincible.

To all Whale drivers in my lance / team - I will not leave you alone and I will try my best to cover your back. Just don't go 1v6 on me and expect my support unless we're the last mechs standing.

I admit - earlier tonight in a match on Caustic my whole team kept sprinting around in a circle to the right - not chasing anyone, just eagerly not wanting to be the guy in the back getting caught and killed. We survived only because the other team was stunningly stupid - stopping individually to fight. We still only won 12-8....

I was seriously, genuinely considering just dropping my arty on them. All chewed up, I probably would have gotten like 4 TKs.

Then said 'OOPs! I didn't means to do dat!'

They needed it though. Needed it *so bad*.

Fenris, this was only a partial success.

You needed a video with Sad looking Dire Wolves being left behind by other mechs, including assaults- to the tune of Sarah McLachlan's "Angel."

What happens in Skirmish is the "tidey bowl of death". Everyone goes in a circular pattern around the center. This is especially true on smaller maps like River City or Forest Colony. The fast mechs race ahead to the spawn point of their enemy and kill the slow moving targets that their team left behind. If you want free kills on smaller maps, your lights should run to their assaults and protect those mechs from the enemies lights. Then when the rest of your team shows up you can group and fight with a numerical advantage.

I think Assaults getting run down for being slow became more of an issue with the introduction of the fast and heavily armed Timber Wolf and Stormcrow. Last night on RC, my Stalker was running behind the rest of the group, and a couple enemy lights caught up with me. I kept going, as I was not getting heavily damaged, but then a Stormcrow and Timber Wolf also caught up with me and took me out in short order. Assaults could really use some love right now... :)

The only thing more amusing to hearing Dwarf pilots complain about being in the back is watching a Dwarf outrun an Atlas (If you're wondering, this means your Atlas build is bad).

If you're not trying to stay with your lance or teammates at the start, you're asking for you or them to die most of the time. That even applies to Dwarfs.

Yeah, I've seen far too many teams do things like that. Laps around the caldera, laps around the volcano, the river city counter clockwise derp, etc. Usually when I see the team is intent on following that kind of play, I'll point out that they are completely screwing over their heavies hitters by moving too fast, usually get some smartass remark. At which point I'll announce to the team my intention of defending some remote spot on the map.

Most of the time those teams get their asses handed to them. A lot of the time the blame me for not being there, angry that a DW is still fresh and alive while they are all dead. Most of the time, in the one minute of fighting I do when the enemy team finds me, I far outstrip even the best of my dead allies. The other half of the time, when they come at me in waves I often enough wipe out 2 full lances solo without a single ally left alive to support me.

A lot of times I'm a little rude with what I say to the team because of my frustration, I've got to work on that, but I'm trying to be more polite and point out that had they used movements that didn't screw over their heaviest hitters, our team would have handily wiped theirs out.

My personal best to date is taking down 10 enemies after my entire team died and dealing more damage than all 11 combined, but the enemy team wasn't anything to brag about either. After killing 3 in rapid succession that I ambushed without taking a single hit to my mech, I was saved by the the rest of them getting cowardly and trying to approach using each other as meat shields. Had they been even remotely decent players, they'd have ganged up on me and taken me down with only 2 or 3 losses at worst....

...at least I can count on my enemies being nearly as stupid as my team in the solo queue.

As it stands I just think of my team as cannon fodder and use them as meat shields until they prove me wrong. Particularly when I see one or two players I know to be good on my team. If we have at least 3 good players, well the rest are going to be god awful.

Every game, I try to keep my Lance together (I'm kind've a noob, so I'm not very good at this). Whether I'm in my Catapult (which has an uprated engine), my Nova, or my Stalker (and thus have no choice), I try to keep us all together.

I almost always see the fast mechs just run off and leave the Lance behind... and while I appreciate that maybe they're trying to scout out enemy positions, having our scouts spotting mechs 2 klicks out HELPS NO ONE.

If you are playing a Direwolf solo dont click Skirmish. If you are in a group, why did your group run away from you?

I hate Caustic in a Dire Wolf. I think it would be better to find a place to hide and power down instead of running circles and getting ***** by a bunch of light mechs.
