I have a 'job' for all of you. I need you to reply to this with stuff you'd like to see in your 'Mechs cockpit - as in 'items' like Fuzzy Dice, Hula Girl, etc. I'm collecting these as an informal study.
So please, answer away!

Note: Don't go too overboard with advertising in the game. Only advertise like that if the consumer has essentially "bought into that advertisement."

-- Don't mind the "check engine" light being always on, everything's fine.
-- Didn't have time to replace engine. Patch it up good. Leaks a bit of radiation but I think you'll be fine.
-- This is the third time I've replaced the hand actuators on this thing, whoever's piloting it, STOP PUNCHING THINGS!!
-- Note to next mechanic: change oil.
-- Throttle might stick a bit, just shake it back and forth a few times when it happens.
-- Couldn't fix the zoom functionality completely, suggest you squint.
-- For the last time, there's nothing wrong with the onboard targeting, suggest you train more in mech simulator.
-- Checked back armor holding pins again as you asked, their fine. So no, the rear armor plates "arn't falling off", just stop turning your back to the enemy.
-- If the ejection button doesn't work the first time, hit the console a couple times, that should do the trick.
-- As per your Commander's request, removed cup holder. We don't have time to always replace the instrumentation panel because you're always spilling your drink.
-- Just installed new HUD interface. Has some "quirks" but you'll get used to them.
-- We're still looking into why your HUD changes entirely pink, that's some weird stuff.
-- Still not sure where that noise is coming from, we'll look into it further when you get back.
-- There's a manufacturer's recall on your CASE, suggest you use all your ammo quickly.

Bobblehead (couple different kinds would be nice, bobbleheads of the various house leaders as a faction exclusive would be funny, 'Mech bobbles would also be very cool, a Natasha Kerensky bobblehead would be priceless)
Disco ball / fuzzy dice / air freshener (possibly 'Mech or faction symbol shaped) / lucky rabbit's foot / [insert other dangling item names here]
Discarded candy wrappers, half eaten energy bars and other detritus sitting on the console
Pin up of some kind (option for user uploaded or developer provided preferable)
Option to have a sidearm strapped to the leg of pilot's choice (option to select laser, needler, gyrojet or slug thrower would be a very nice addition to that)
Option to have a knife of some kind (probably survival, diving or vibroblade) strapped to an arm or leg (possibly select what you want)
Music player of some kind, it need not be visible if functional (perhaps the option to set your playlist in mechlab or choose a song/playlist while waiting for battle to start)
Oscillating fan clipped to console or hanging from above (bonus points if the fan cuts out when 'Mech's temperature pushes into the red zone when it is needed most. epic win for a pilot animation that reaches up and taps on the fan to try and get it restarted)
Hard copy map, partially folded
Maybe a parody of the Staples "Easy" button. (non-functioning of course)
A "shopping list" of parts or equipment your maintenance crew chief or unit quartermaster wants salvaged (need not be items that a player normally installs in mechlab) and even regular items, some checked off or crossed out. A list might have on it for example:
- Atlas Knee Actuator
- 2 Lord's Light PPCs
- Gauss Rifle Ammo
- Holly LRM 10 Rack
- Apple Churchill TTS
Pick Up Dry Cleaning- MILK!!!
That's all I can think of right now.

Of course, such would most likely be done entirely via the website or in partnership with an online shop, but it's worth considering.
As for digital goods, other than what's already been suggested, nothing's occurring to me at the moment.
