I would really like to see one of those GPS you stick to your windshield. Would be funny. Also, as others have mentioned, an MP3 player built into your mech would be really damn cool.

Other than that, I think the entire hud should be redone so that it's actually part of each mech. Instead of simply having it overlay the cockpit screen as is, each mech should have dedicated dashboard space for everything(even if it's clearly shown to be a hologram). This would be a lot of work for the devs, unfortunately, as each mechs cockpit would have to be custom fit to maintain its unique look as well as proper HUD functionality.
