A cupholder, including a frosty beverage. that would probably become less frosty as the mech heats up, up to the point of possibly boiling over if you get too hot.

As long as it adds to, rather than subtracts from, the immersion. A sidearm, perhaps a survival knife, House-appropriate stuff (or even Regiment-appropriate stuff), etc. The Hula girl and fuzzy dice (and Urbie bobblehead) would be nice for subtle forum jokes, but not everyone's taste. Still, the more options the better.

I was with the boy-scouts for years without bothering to sew on any insignia, medals, flags and whatever. Being messy immerses me. Too much RP decals seem too "clean", when seriously working on tactics and coordination, I need something that relativates the environment :)

Some sort of talisman, like those fluffy dice, an eight-ball, horse's reigns or snaffle bit
a horseshoe, of course with the "open" side up
*looks around if wife is near* some pin-up
photo of family, home planet attached onto the radar screen :)
a big red "don't touch this" button
Cupholder and fan
an unseen miniature

A fan poster for Tharkad Broadcast Company'* *** battlemech cartoon series detailing the exploits of the 1st Somerset Strikers. For canon's sake, this item cannot be available prior to the clan invasion.

How bout a little spot I can upload custom photos.....that way I can upload a picture of my wife and everytime I am heavily damaged I can caress it and say "I'm sorry honey, but I'm not making it home", then I'll activate the ejection seat built into the custom mech simulator in my basement.

My wife hates the repair bill on the roof, but I say, go big or just don't go.

I would love to see dynamic stuff that reacts to the condition inside the cockpit. For example...

- A Hula Girl that melts if you get too hot.
- Fuzzy dice that combust if you overheat and sway as you move around.
- A PGI or pinup girl poster that crinkles and yellows with the heat.
- An air freshener that really freshens.

Other ideas...

- Trophies from quality kills, especially if they could be related to achievements. For example if you headshot X number of mechs with ballistic weapons perhaps you could get a little bullet trophy or plaque.
- Patches on your suit, or the ability to alter the color of your suit.
- The Founder status badge as a in-game sticker we could put on the inside of the mech.
- Some kind of customizable startup sequence. Not necessarily the Battletech Betty startup sound, but perhaps your clan logo could flash on the screens as you power up.
- Kill markings associated with number of mechs killed or planets visited.
- Your House or Clan/Merc Unit logo as a sticker.

different colored buttons

frilly pompoms like in cheech and chong lowrider.(they must dangle when the mech walks.

Christmas lights lining the windows of the cockpit.

foggy messages or drawn faces like on a foggy mirror in the bathroom. (must appear only when your heat gets too high.)

i like the mp3 and rear view camera ideas.

While the Hula girl (with working hula girl physics), fuzzy dice, and plastic dinosaurs and palm tree are all nice...

We need an Urbie Bobblehead. (With working physics.)

I also wouldn't mind a lava lamp.

However, I do think that these should all be selectable (choose from Urbie bobblehead and the like for your "hula girl" slot) or at least toggleable; that way, you can have all kinds of cool stuff without things getting too crowded.

A number of small brightly-colored scented candles placed around the cockpit to improve the atmosphere a bit and mask the unpleasant smells.

Faction specific themes, I'd pay ten bucks to have the inside of my mechs slapped with the stiener insignia and paintjob.

True, true. I'm good with the dirt/grime ideas (smoldering cigar in an ashtray), maybe even buttons/***** that start out pristine, but the more you play that chassis, the dirtier the buttons/***** get from constant use.

EDIT: Wow, the censor thing continues to amuse me. Um, dial? Wow, so I can't say doorknob? Switch? Eh, you get the idea.
