I suggest the following items.

-Pinup calendar
-Placeholder for predefined photos (screenshots from the game? profile pictures that can be added to forums/ingame account?)
-Monitor in cockpit for group members with active content (showing who is still alive and not)

My personal wish list for my pimped out cockpit:

- Pinup / Personal Photo-frame (for one's own pictures of their Girlfriend / Boyfriend / Dog / Cat / Sheep etc.)

- Urbanmech Bobble!

- "Wunder-baum" Air-freshener

- Small cabin fan (from which to hang your air-freshener of course!)

- Post-it note from mechanic griping about always having to clean up your mess (Thanks Vosje for that idea!)

- Cup holders! (Maybe with a travel-mug of steaming hot Joe popped in one)

- BIG RED BUTTON! (Preferably one that says "DO NOT PUSH" in bold white on it) We need a big red button!

Seriously though, custom nose-art is the top of my want list as far as cosmetics go.
Though I understand it would lead to requiring some sort of moderation on PGI's end.

I totally want a picture of an old-style ShadowHawk with the caption "F*** you Harmony Gold!" underneath.

Hows about a newton's cradle. I like the idea of having a faction logo in there, how about having "scrap metal" taken from a destoryed mech with it painted on it.

Or maybe a picture of a mech in thrid person perspective with an arrow pointing at the legs with "legs are here" written on it.

Sorry if its been posted already but 103 pages is a bit too much for me to read through.

I already saw that some mentioned pictures/pin-ups. My idea is to have an area for them and let the user pick pictures from their computer to display there. Then just have it only displayed on their client so you don't have to worry about policing the content of the pictures.

Other than that how about a dashboard electric fan. It can get hot in there if you overheat your mech alot, heh.

Definitely cup holders! You need something to hold your icy cold beverage and keep it close to you for when your mech starts overheating! What about ash trays for the smoking crowd and to go with those little tree air fresheners are a must, but wait what are you gonna hang em on? You might as well include fake reverse mirrors, or little monitors that looked like reverse mirrors but where actually reverse LCD displays. All would make good additions to cockpit items in my mind. And what if there was like a pin-up of "Bitching Betty" so we could put a face to the voice!

Personally? Customized computer voices. Particularly if I could get Ellen McLain to do something akin to her GLaDOS voice.

As far as visual items go, I'm not sure. I probably wouldn't be enticed myself, but perhaps customized pilot suits would be an item that might be of interest to some. Maybe house/merc unit insignias, particularly if they were animated.

I hope this reply won't get me banned from the forums but I think cockpit items shouldn't be on your piority list. I want some new maps, maybe more dynamic like a campaign to conquere enemy territories on a galaxy map or what ever. Cockpit items are not the things I have been waited for when I waited for this game for years ;-)
