I just picked up La Malinche with the 50% off sale to go with my other Banshees (while avoiding picking up the 3M version) and am trying to figure out some build options.

I had found the previous thread with it's 10 or so suggestions but wasn't inspired by any I saw.

This is what I have currently come up with: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...de52e0f1ce5a854

But I feel like I just have too many weapon groups/weapon ranges to deal with. Ideally, I tend to like either going a close to medium range build with 1 or 2 things that can reach out and touch someone OR go Med/Med-long range that is still capable when things get close even if not ideal.

So please post any idea/builds you have that work well.

Thanks in advance.

I think its just too much tonnage invested in lrms. 7 ton launcher and 1 ton of ammo.

I'm not a fan of XLs on Banshees unless you go really fast and concentrate in long range firepower. The ability to dictate range and extract your mech out of a dangerous situation is the only advantage in that case.

That is what i would do in the particular case of La Malinche

The Banshee is an undeniable big and cumbersome mech. The only way to make it feel fast and snappy is to stick in a XL400 and then you end up with joke weapons on it.

So embracing the size and making it a front line mech that hits hard is the only way to run it.

Using the LRM launcher works if you stick a gauss instead of the AC20 and decide to stay at range.

I run guass, erppc in torso. Lrm20 with artemis. Tag in the head. Med las in the arms. Std325. Endo steel. Don't like to think of it as a sniper. More long range fire support with the option to close range.
