Considering how long a lot of us have been playing, I don't see it. I know plenty of people who have hundreds of millions of cbills banked (myself included). I could buy two consumables per match and make 0 cbills for months on end. And I have NEVER bought MC consumables even for comp matches. If they are banking on making a lot of $$ from this change I don't see it happening.

people like you with hundreds of millions, yah it makes no difference. To people just starting however...

there are more space poors than space riches.

Also, people like me who are somewhere in the middle it sucks for too.. yeah i have a decent amount of Cbills right now, like 15 million or so, and i have 7 or so different mastered chassis.. but i would like to buy more chassis to try them out still, and so up till this point i have used persistent modules, as even though Arty was the best thing to take i could fill the slots with other useful things and not gimp my team, and keep my cbill rewards. Now if i dont spend 80k per match I AM GIMPING MY TEAM. ON PURPOSE.

Of course its an endorsed tactic. Its a massive cbill sink for the average or below average player trying to dig their stats out of the hole they are in. Which in turn makes progression (the grind) so horrendously slow that the only way for them to advance at any kind of decent rate to require $$$.

Make no mistake. This was a business decision. Not a game play one. When it comes to money, PGI is anything but stupid.

Don't really use the arty + air as much. Still won't make it mandatory either now.

Why is it a must to spend 80k per match, i don't get it. If you win by using strikes and make around 30K cbills at the end then I'd rather have a streak of loses where I make around 60K and I can use the extra money to buy moar lazor or whatever. I don't see why it's mandatory to fill the module slots because they are there.

PGI wants us to use consumables every drop. That way people don't earn c-bills and have a reason to buy premium time. They don't care how much it breaks the game.

The rule of F2P is get them in the micro transactions.

Micro transactions?? You mean macro transactions!

Other F2P games: "Pay $1.99 and you can get this special item for use on a single character."
Us: "Sweet! Here you go!"

MWO: "Pay $15.99* and get this special item you can only use on one mech at a time."
(Most of) Us: "WT#??"

* Based on the formula 6.5M CBills = 4000 MC = $15.99 if you buy 25,000 MC for $99.95 "BEST VALUE!"

Do you see drug dealers standing on street corners with a big sign saying, "Buy Drugs here!?"

No.

What you do see is sinister practices that make it "easy" to buy more. Painless, simple and inconspicuous. Now we can be assured that we can bring two consumables a drop and, oh, hey! Easily refill them every time now without any effort!

I wonder how many arty strikes I can get when I trade in 60mil worth of modules.

I really don't get all the complaining that's going on about how people are using both arty+air strikes consumables after the module change. Its not like we couldn't do that before.

I never used consumables before. I'm about to have sudden windfall though. Consumables for the foreseeable future will be free and I don't have to give anything up to bring them.

Hey ... PGI ... you hear that? That deafening silence on the battlefield? Mechs with no pilots?

Yep ...

It's your fault!

You finally brought peace to the galaxy!

Looks like the cold hard truth. Garbage post.

*edit* edited because the topic of the recent module changes has some merit.

Have you ever seen a poll in this forum?

HELL have you ever seen ANYONE say they want more arty? Niko thinks were all mentally challenged. Most of their player base dont need to spend cash to buy mechs anymore and instead of finding ways to bring new players in they fuckover the old player base. But then again i think its tradition here.

The real issue is that before you had to make a choice. Either mech modules or consumables. There were always pros and cons to each choice. Now you get to always bring two consumables to every match without issue. Other than the cost there is no downside of taking these, you don't have to choose. Now it's as easy as clicking a checkbox to always have that airstrike available, and that was pretty evident in my matches last night.

The other side is now, you have to make a choice of which 2 mech modules to bring instead of bringing 3-4 every match.

Every single weapon module is so painfully bad (hows that ams module do?) why bother taking them..Over all tho my module use hasn't really changed much.

Translating the cost of something in cBills to MC is not accurate, since you can earn cBills for free

you're pretty much grasping at straws here bud sorry to say

Also I will say this, I played a bunch in the solo queue and in the groups queue (in a small and large group) last night, and didn't really see any increase in arty's or airstrikes. Of course when playing against the larger coordinated groups they always have them / spam them anyways as usual but I mean... what's 0 + 0? :)

What I do like though is not having to refill my coolshot if I use it :(
