1. Limit weapons according to their weight and type. Lights should not be carrying PPC's, AC/LBX above 5 (and LRM above 10, not that anyone would seriously use LRM 15/20 on a light). Mediums should not be using AC/LBX above 10 (with the exception of specialized mechs, such as the YLW with his ability to mount an AC20). Mediums should also be allowed to carry only a single PPC or GAUSS. Heavies and Assaults should not be able to use Tag nor NARC.
2. Limit modules. Only lights and mediums should be allowed to use Sensor Range, Seismic, Target Info and Target Decay level 1, lights only for level 2. UAV would be light only module. Only mediums and Heavies are allowed to use Air Strike and Arty.
3. Decrease sensor range as weight increases. Lights should keep the current sensor range, while all other classes would suffer an additional 10% reduction per class (-10% for meds, -20% for heavies and -30% for assaults).
4. Lock time increases as weight decrease. Same as above - assaults would get the normal lock on time, heavies +10%, mediums +20%, lights +30% (to compensate for mechs with Missile hardpoints only - lock on time is only increased by one third, ie. 10% for lights, 6.5% for meds, 3.3% for heavies).
5. Adjust cooldown. Assaults should have a global -10% cooldown on weapons with damage over 10.1 (Large Laser included, but not AC10), heavies -5%, to compensate for having lower sensor range.
6. Flanking bonus. Mediums should get a 7% increase in damage and crit chance to back center and side torso.
7. Role Bonuses. Lights should get 50% more exp and c-bills from spotting, Tagging and Narcing. Mediums would get 25% more for the same actions. Mediums should also get 30% more exp and c-bills for assists made from the back (considered as flanking).
* All of the above mentioned % are just placeholders, and should be adjusted in such a way that no mechs get broken, and the overall game balance does not change dramatically in favor of one class or another.
