I thought I heard this somewhere, but could someone clarify?

Loyalty Points (when they arrive) will be earned *only* if you are in a mech that fits your faction? (Like a Steiner piloting a Dire Wolf would not earn LP?)

If people can get Steiner loyalty points while piloting Clan mechs, I will be extremely vocal about my discontent. At that point, we may as well abandon any pretense of a Battletech game and just let people pilot AT-AT walkers, Warlord Titans, Gundams and Power Ranger Zords.

Good that cw finally has a date. But phase 1 is the most unexciting phase of them so not really excited about it.

so is this supposed to be "Merc Unit Phase 1"?? which is 56% complete?

Or just the unit creation subbset? (closer 60% complete)

I mean, what is CW Phase 1 anymore?

(Cockpit glass is part of CW implementation according to The Plan)

As much as I've been waiting for it, I can't seem to shake the feeling that everyone is going to be seriously disappointed by this whole thing.

One of the biggest problems is something that's been echoed in this thread over and over....a lack of people to join a unit. Originally, PGI put out that you would need a minimum of 12 players and each one would have to pay 18.8 million cbills (a 1/12 portion of the cost of a dropship) as part of the startup cost.

Sure, there are still large, organized units out there that can handle this....but I've got a hunch it'll be a lot less than they were hoping for. They're going to have to loosen up those restrictions if they're going to have as much interest in this as they wanted.

I just found the answer to the question of Loyalty points. Apparently, "Contracts" are "the backbone for earning Loyalty points" and PGI has only marked a 15% progress with Contracts. So it looks like we're still very far from getting any loyalty points at all.

I just think its hilarious that after the game has been out 3 years and most of the people still playing have collected all the mechs in the game, PGI will finally implement a system that gives players a 10% C-bill discount when buying a Jenner. It's like going up to your 40-year-old son and finally giving him the football shoes he needed when he was 11 years old.

What am I going to do with a discount on medium lasers? I have 200 of them in storage. I could probably build a small village made out of leftover gauss rifles, for God's sake.

My hype reserves were drained ages ago. Seems it happened to everybody else, too, since this thread has 2 pages of comments.

I don't know they'll engage old players who have everything, or somehow attract new players who'll run into the old players who have everything, and promptly ragequit the game.

And that's the part that bothers me the most.

Even if one of the requirements to form a unit is that they own their own dropship, I fail to see why a unit cannot be formed with anything less than a Union (assuming that's what they're gettting at with a 1/12 share of a dropship). A Leopard costs 75 million cbills (for the upgraded version) and fits 4 mechs. That's completely viable.

The concept is that a unit must own it's own ship is completely ludicrous since transportation is a standard in contracts, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this portapotty sorts itself out.

I hope we get more Information soon. But the broken servers are really an issue now. I want CW. I Need CW warfare.
Nobody Needs this game when you moonwalk too much. When games are won by Airstrikes and the luck of the Server god.
