Let's be honest.
If your ally can detect you being NARCed, you should be able to as well.

What if a friendly or yourself have to mount a beagle, the target computer or some sort of device to have the ability to see tag or narc. Tag and narc are sneaky weapons, what is the point of sneak up to somebody, shoot, and then get discovered by anyone. If we have to give advantages over a weapon system, at least give some drawback as well.

I'd like to see delayed icons for both NARC and TAG. If you're TAGged for more than, say, 5.0s, then you should get a TAG indicator. The same for NARC. Give it a few seconds of alert-free spotting, then have it show up on your HUD. <-- GOOD Idea
To prevent stutter-TAG spotting, have the indicator appear 5s after you are TAGged even if the spotter has stopped spotting you. Give it, say, another 5s of showing you are spotted even after the TAG has left you. <--BAD Idea
I like this idea a lot... but having a TAG on chainfire would negate the 5 second rule. Have you ever heard a TAG on chainfire? LOL! "pew, pew, pew, pew, pew, pew..."

I voted no simply because light scouts that are actually trying to do their job (which aren't very many) already have a tuff time doing their job. Plus I'm of the opinion that BB shouldn't even tell people that LRMs are coming... lol...

Chat sucks. If there were voice coms, it would be different, maybe even fun to have to tell teammates that they are narced.
As it stands, it just gives organized groups an advantage over the PUGs.
I sucks to have to lose control over my mech for 5 seconds just to tell someone that they are narced

Greetings all,
For the NARC, we have an icon that is presented on the compass indicating there is a NARC active.
- There is an Icon present above the Mech, everyone see's it except the target.
- This same icon should be displayed on the right HUD location where the ECM icon is only for the targeted Mech.
If PGI really wanted to push this element they would also show it's presence on the mini map.
- A radiating pulse on the targeted Mech, but this could be somewhat problematic when multiple Mech's are NARC'd.
- LRM's are supposed to be 'seeking' for a NARC beacon and not require any lock-on to the target.
(not seeing this in-game)
- NARC's are listed to be able to 'pull-in' any missile that has lost or didn't have a target lock anymore.
(not seeing this in game, and that's even SRM's that are not semi-steerable or homing.)
Much more needs to be done for the coding and effects of this one 'feature' element. And follows the issue with the infrared TAG beam actually being visible.

Unfortunately I have to disagree and say no to having a marker. NARC is a powerful device that does not see a lot of play currently. It's adaptation from tabletop is weak so they improved other features about it to compensate. NARC would be very good if it performed as it does in Battletech (TT), but it would also be defeated by ECM as it does in Battletech. Originally this item only lasted for 6 seconds. That was more than enough for artillery mechs such as the Catapult to fill the sky with enough missiles to kill their target. With the doubling of armor in MWO the time was taken from 6 seconds to 12, later it cancelled ECM when applied directly, and then it was extended again, and again... My point is that in its current iteration in MWO it doesn't need an indicator in cockpit. Allies can scream at you and the constant stream of missiles should be indicator enough. NARC is just hard to fight when there is very little cover around.
