More like invalidate the Panther should it ever be included. Unless it is able to mount at least 6 ML though, I don't see it invalidating Jenners anytime soon. That isn't even counting the 3/3/3/3 rule that helps invalidate the Assassin more so than the 35 tonners.

People have already found ways around the 3/3/3/3 rule to mean they don't really need to bring lights in the group queue.

I think it safe to say MOST of us are waiting, and speculating as to when we start seeing more Inner Sphere mech designs, and what ones those will be. We have various levels of confirmation that we will be seeing the Vindicator, Mauler and King Crab, eventually.

KGC has been confirmed somewhat?! Please tell me you aren't joshing me because that is the ONE mech I've been wanting all this time....We also need the Crab if only to have a complete set of crabs.

but yeah Assassin. Might be interesting though I pray that PGI would actually scale the thing right for once.

Depends on whether they are running 12v12 in the queue or running bigger groups. Either way, I don't see the Jenner losing its status as king of the lights/wannabe lights anytime soon. This will have a larger profile than the Jenner, guaranteed.

The Viper is the only mech I could forsee taking over (4 CERML, 4 MGs, and plenty of JJs to go around) and even then Im sort of skeptical.

There's a reason why the Jenner is staying King of the lights: The assassin is a medium mech.

I added the wannabe lights for a reason ;) because that is what this will be and the Cicada currently is. It does not compete for the same role that the other non-Cicada mediums compete over.

Great art.

I'd love to see the Assassin. It's a bit of a dud in TT (barring customization) due to low armor, but of course we have the technology to fix that.

My only concern would be that it might invalidate the 35-ton lights with the hit boxes you've described. Especially Jenners.

Jenner could use the competition. I think the different profiles, and some agility quirk differences would be enough to keep both viable.

the Current customization/mechlab invalidate the Panther and Wolfhound before they are ever introduced. Neither Can do anything the Firestarter doesn't do better. MUCH better.

I would like to see it in game.

Should release the Assassin and the Viper. IS/Clan medium scouts please.

Ice Ferret too!

I forget where, probably twitter, but Russ did say it was coming. Probably 90 days after Open Beta, or something.

it is much more about their actual use and role, than some obligatory weight class, isn't it?

Without a doubt, I just wish PGI understood that.

Wonderful, there's probably an extinction event scheduled between now and it finally being released

eh. I can't get too excited. I love Alex's work, but TBH, felt his KGC was...bad. And well, Alex is the lead, so that would be the one we get. Some people of course love it.... I just feel it totally doesn't fit the game, and the hitboxes will be bad almost no matter what.

But if Alex at least incorporates some of my ideas for it, it will be bad hit boxes in a useful way, with huge arms that need to be peeled to get to the big STs consistently, all wrapping around a small ct. Make it suicide to XL, but so you have to peel the layers to finally kill it.

Well you do have to get rid of the tough exo skeleton to get to a crab's juicy meat so it makes sense.

Those are some large side torsos. Still as long as one ac20 is kept in play, the King would be quite dangerous.

The jenner has already been replaced by the firestarter as King of the Lights because the firestarter has waaaaay better hitboxes.

That's good because it also has a larger profile to go with them.

exactly. and a LOT of armor. Eat through on side, and you still got the other. Either an LRM15 and ac20, or Large laser and ac20. Either way, still able to lay down more hurt than most Atlases after losing a side. And if you blow an arm instead of the torso, then you got an ac20, lrm15 and large laser to deal with.

The assassin would be a neat addition if it was scaled properly, which I doubt it would be.

indeed the fear.

Though Russ will assure us it's proper "Medium MEch Size"

Which in the Russ-verse appears to mean taller than Heavies.

55 ton mech size, dawg!

Side-note: I haven't done any real comparisons, but I think the Ryoken might actually be the biggest medium in the game. It's basically a 55 ton Stalker lol.
