Losing 4/5 Games In The Group Queue Makes Me Lose Interest In Playing Altogether

This is sort of the cycle with me and online games: My friends stop playing, and I play by myself until it starts to feel like it has no purpose with noone to share it with. Only this time, my friends are still playing; very much so, and one friend loves MW and will probably play forever.
Playing with friends just isn't fun, because your matchmaker has made it not fun.
This has been pointed out before, but there are different kinds of groups with different kinds of players, and you treat them all the same.
Elo doesn't sort it out -- we have one Elo score for solo and group, Elo moves very slowly, and there are so few players in the group queue that Elo often gets ignored anyway.
In most games, it seems one team has an exceptionally well-coordinated or large group that tips the scales, and it's a tossup whether that group is on the red team or the blue team.
Additionally, in 100% of the games we play, our team is at a disadvantage because it has a small group (us). The other team only shares that disadvantage in some games.
I realize the group queue needs meat for the grinder if large groups are going to be able to play at all. I don't really care. If the matchmaker can't find an equitable matchup for a large group, maybe that should just be their problem, rather than mine.
I would honestly rather there be just one queue for all players, solo and group, and then I would just get pubstomped now and then rather than have so very, very many group queue matches be so miserable.

You can do 1 of 2 things.
1. Play to your group, use chat to encourage your team to play as a team of 12 and not 2 or 4 little tribes of pugs wanting to stake out their own corner of the map.
2. Quit for a couple of days, then try again.
That's it.
Combining the queues will never ever happen and should never happen. It was horrible, terrible and miserable. You drop in a group and pugstomp for literally a 90% or better win rate. I would have stretches of 19 out of 20 games a win very commonly. Everyone else hated it, because they were just food for groups.
Will never happen. Ever. We've advanced beyond such failed social constructs as a civilization and should never seek to move backward.
Playing in a small group is being the new pug queue. You need to work harder to keep up with bigger groups, who are dropping against you with an advantage. Just like small groups used to have in the pug queue. It's the exact same thing - exactly. It is the best choice for the games matchmaking system as it stands right now and in the foreseeable future.

Endless asskickings, endless artillery strikes, and I lose 80% in the group Q, almost always by 4-12 or worse.
And before all the get Gud BS starts... I have a RL, I'm as good as I'm ever going to get. So, because I don't have the time to get Gud, I'm just doomed to feed the good groups?
What's truly unfortunate, is I used to get my teeth kicked in dropping solo. Losing 9 of my first 10 was a normal night for me, and grouping up was the only way I could find any success. But since the MM changes, I'm winning solo about 75% of the time.
So, hang with friends and lose all the time, or drop solo and win. Pretty ****** choice to force mediocre players like me to make.

So you want to utilize teamwork in a pug environment because you don't like other people having a coordination advantage?
A little unfair huh?
Maybe it's just your group?
It's easy to blame everyone else.
I remember years ago me and my buddies would always play Super Monday Night Combat together and got stomped every time
We were able to admit the problem was us.

Comps stomp casuals under a hail of meta and red smoke as they should, meaning that if your ELO is high enough to be in their range, it'll be ggclose till the cows come home.
OP (and most players, myself included) don't belong in the same queue as the competitive team types, but unless there's a reason for them to play against each other anywhere but the same sandbox, they'll just curbstomp anything that isn't of similar skill levels ASAP so they can get to an actual game.

It is very important to put things into perspective.
If you are playing in a small group of 2 or 3 you should at the start of the match determine if you are one small group in a team with several small groups or the filler for a 10 man.
If you are one small group in many the other team will also be composed of several groups if at all possible (that is what the group matchmaker is suppose to do) You will need to use the chat system to have a good chance to win.Hash out a simple but direct plan with your team.
If you are the filler you should support the large group and follow their plan.
Also,in a small group DO NOT play Skirmish.
I would suggest a small group of speedy skirmishers playing conquest or assault.in these modes of play it is easiest for a small group to fill a needed role without the need for constant communication.
Take your 2 or 3 light/medium mechs and at the start of the conquest match tell your team that you are ready to capture whatever point is needed then do it.
The thing is with the group queue.Groups with plans win more often than groups who play like they are still in the solo queue.

If the people your group is teamed up with is incompetent, try to friendlist some competent people so you and your friends can join them on drops.
Go to twitch channels like NGNGtv, MWOPRO and JagerXII and talk to people in chat. You might find some good people who wouldn't mind grouping up with, or a good large group that need a few extras (you and your friends) to fill out a 12 man. Once you start running games with such people, you start getting a concept of what you need to do to win.
Once you've built up your rolodex and become better yourself, your groups will no longer be small and poorly coordinated.

Since there are so far tryhards, that means weaker players will get sucked in. After a session beating their heads against them, most just quit until the next patch - but the next patch may or may not fix things.
The tryhards, meanwhile, get bored of farming in 12-0 stomps, and take breaks.
Everybody loses, no one wins.
Play in assault if you absolutely don't want to see any of the elite krews.

So boomeranging it back in his face relabeled as advice is worthless.
There are more customers like the OP than there are large grouping or competition players. By factors of 10. They leave and the game ceases to exist.
So both PGI and the comp crowd better effing listen to them. Well really only PGI. If they want to continue in business.
OP - until PGI fixes it, you should listen to Adiuvo's advice.**
As for the tryhards that will I'm sure pile in and bray: remember - you can't ARGUE someone into liking something. "Ohyo don't like this? Let me belittle you and point out your flaws and show you the fallacy of your logic so you no longer feel that emotion". Yeah... THAT"LL ever work.
