To use, simply reference this url with the mech code, followed by .png.

static.mwomercs.com/api/assets/mechicons/kfx-s.png

They are also available under ssl.

These images are free to use for non-commercial websites, references, and mech-building tools relating to MWO.

Please include a copyright notice:
MechWarrior: Online (A BattleTech Game) Copyright © 2012-2014 Piranha Games Inc.

Currently, these are from the game files, so they (in general) only look nice against a dark background.

We will expand at some point to include more images. Most tools developers already have some kind of informal agreement with us or fell into some fair-use clause, but for anyone that was made uneasy by it being a grey area, hopefully this clears it up.

That's all we have for this week, folks. More improvements are coming down the line.

Works like a charm.

Though I'm figuring that the list of mechs as per the "dct" or full catalouge listing is not supplied but only the icons of mechs that have been released so far into the game for sale.

E.g The Kitfox prime not the I or G variant is in the listings but the Stormcrow prime is not as it has not been released, yet we are aware of it as a valid variant yet to be released in the future.

Code can use workarounds here of course by checking headers to see if the file exists and diverting to the "I" variant if missing. This since some tools may wish to utilise or recognise the presence of the basic prime variant knowing it is in the pipeline as a recognised mech to be used.

So, If I build a non-commercial application for my clan to use, I can include these files themselves in my application downloadable, as long as I include the copyright notice? (Or do I need to have my application link to the files hosted on your site?)

The (planned) app I am referring to is a desktop app, and not web-based, so it could run when the user is offline. Therefore, storing the files on the users HDD would be preferred.

A non-commercial desktop app is okay. : ) Be sure to include the copyright notice somewhere.

You guys should allow us to use these images as possible avatars on the forums. (Or cropped versions or something).

Remote calls in php are timing out irrespective of either of the supplied paths above being used.

(failing to open streams on calls such as getimagesize function or checking if the header exists)

Note this has been resolved. Local security settings where the temporary problem.

I'll see if I can get those images next week - it's tricky because we've been shuffling departments here and so who is responsible for getting this art in is not too clear. : )

I like how there appears to be an Oxide Alt labeled "DO NOT USE" with what appears to be energy mounts in the arms.
