Hey guys. I'm working on a new mechwarrior film (no eta, unfortunately) and I would like to know what my options are canonically for mechs to use in it. What were the available mechs for the FRR and Ronin specifically during this conflict? Bonus points for suggesting your favorite designs for both of these groups.

Greetings,
Considering that the FFR has limited production facilities for Battle Mech's, mostly Gorton, Kingsley, and Thorpe Enterprises.
This company did own a production unit on New Oslo but sold it to Bergan Industries after the Ronan wars, it's famously know for producing the Locust IIC 5 and it's components.

There are two facilities for the GKT Company,
- one on Rasalhague that produces,
VTOL, Hovercraft, Light Aerospace Fighters, Dropships, and components from engines to weapons.
- the other on Satalice, which produces,
BattleMech components for the chassis it produces which include:
- Locust IIC (light)
- PNT-10 Panther (light)
- PXH-3K Phoenix Hawk (Medium)
- ARC-5R Archer (Heavy)
- Marauder IIC 7 (Assault)

You'll notice that some of the chassis are IIC variants, after Clan Ghost Bear captured most of the FFR they spent time attempting to upgrade these facilities. There is little documented listings to reference what was being produced before the invasion. But if the IIC's were being built, then it's most likely that the originals were there first.
The second industry that is located in the FFR is Swedenborg Heavy Industries, this company changed hands a few times from FFR to Ghost Bears to Hells Horses. And mostly produces weapons.

The third Company is Benson and Bjorn located on the Planet Spittal, which produces vehicles and weapons.

As a note:
Due to the rather unique circumstances facing the FRR, trade relations with other powers in the Inner Sphere are fraught with unintended consequences. The current government pursues an Even Scale Policy in all dealings with either the Lyran Commonwealth or the Draconis Combine. Under this policy every transaction with one state has to be balanced by a transaction of equal value with the other state. Though simple in concept it has proven to be difficult if not outright impossible in practice. (it is not specifically referenced if this policy also goes towards BattleMechs, so there may have indeed been additional Mech sales across borders.)
Hope that helps some,

Here's a place for you to start: http://www.heavymeta...US_Features.htm
The random unit selector for the ronin wars based on the official random tables. They will appear as text files in the install directory (or whever you unzip them).
If you want a more acccurate set of tables, you'll want to enter the rabbit hole here: http://bg.battletech...pic,1219.0.html
This should be of use to you too: http://www.masterunitlist.info/
