i am now up and running with an amd fx8350 in a gigabyte 970A-UD3P MB, with 8g ddr3 1600 ram, 120g ssd and a gigabyte hd radeon 7770oc (updated bios) win7 64bit
my game is running fine with no crashes anymore.50+fps on a mixture of med and low setiings at 1280x800 rare dip to 35+in battle

i found these microsoft win7 updates for FX chips
http://support.micro....com/kb/2645594

http://support.micro....com/kb/2646060

should i install these updates because i have an FX chip?
has anyone else patched these updates?

i stumbled upon them looking for amd fx optimization

They're probably already installed if you have windows update on.

Unless i'm looking at the wrong amd fx8350 info those updates don't have anything to do with you.

I'm seeing a lot of 2011 dates in those updates. Isn't the 8350 a vishera core?

a google of the update numbers and vishera brings up a bunch of forum posts where people are saying the update either does nothing or give some very minor improvement. Haven't seen anything yet about any type of problem caused by the updates.

I say go for it.

I have thrown every possible patch regarding FX chips....on a 8350........found affinity controllers such as project lasso, or priffinity2 and coreparking program helps make noticeable improvements stack them up and play on playa!

Have you Ocd? that chip will OC tremendously before even touching voltage. If you can cool it..........

Those updates are for the previous generation bulldozer chips. Piledriver fixed the issue.

I have also the FX8350 and run without these Updates - though you should update your Motherboard-Bios the latest Version available.

Like I said, the patches were for the previous generation of processors. Piledriver fixed the issue.
