welllllllll, not easy to remember, started when I was in 7. or 8. class.
That was around 18 Jears ago. Played the bord game with boys from the neighborhood, then stumbled across MW 2 and GBL, devoured MW2 Mercs, played Mw3 and MC, spend some years in a clan playing MW4 Vengance and Mercs
God bless MekTek for their mechpacks. By the way MW4 Mercs free to play is still fun. Anybody up for a match or two?

I am loving how many of you remember (or still have) Battledroids! (May LucasArts not send Stormtroopers after me for mentioning that name...) I was THIS close to having my own copy, but my best friend beat me to the hobby shop and bought the only copy first! At least he let me play... and I did beat him to CityTech.

An old friend of mine introduced me to PC gaming with MW2 back in like 95 or 96, so i guess about 15 years or so. Later I found myself building mechs out of my legos and other building blocks and stuff and having mock clan invasions. I was young and foolish in those days though, so the clans would always win. Ah, memories.... When my family finally got a PC I picked up MW2 Mercs and I've been hooked on the games ever since.

Been part of the universe since 1992, pen and paper when the BattleTech Compendium (introducing the Clans) was the rulebook.

20 years of Heavy Metal Mayhem for me.

Thought it might be fun to see how many years experience we have on the boards.
For the record, I started playing Battletech in 1986. So I'm at the 25 year mark. God I feel old. ^_^

It's a little misleading to say that I've been playing for 1-5 years, because there's nobody to play with out where I am. But I have been interested in the Battletech universe for a few years, and I started playing MechWarrior games last year (incidentally, let me here extend a hand in thanks to MekTek for the awesome free release of MechWarrior 4 Mercs that let me see what it's really like to pilot a Solitaire).

I plan to eventually make it all the way up to the top category on that list, though.

OK have to do the math, but considering I started at seven with running around paper maps, with cardboard tokens being my mech. I am now 30 would make it 23 years. So I started back in 1988. Wow have the years gone by. I am thrilled that the Battletech/Mechwarrrior line has kept me entertained for for so long, but when you have a great product its no wonder its been around and keeps drawing more new fans to it. Thou now I have actual miniatures and play some on table tops with features it still have my cardboard tokens and paper maps. Just can not part with them

I read the"decison on Thunder Rift novel on my native tongue and got hooked.
Then Infocom PC game, the Crecsent Hawks Revenge, folowed later by all four Mechwarrior and both MechComander pc games.

I am considering buying an ebook reader this christmas, because finding Battletech books on bookstores here is painfull and fruitless.

Only by clan standard and the black widow changed that along with Joanna of the Jade Falcons.
